The building in this photo is the former Llandudno lighthouse. It was constructed in 1862 by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company. It looks more like a fortress than a traditional Lighthouse, built using dressed limestone and vast bulks of Canadian pitch pine.
The beacon was in continuous use until March 22nd 1985 when the optic was removed. The lighthouse is now run as a Guest House, Visitors can look down a vertical drop of more than 360ft whilst having breakfast.

Ocean, Sunset, Silhouette and Dreams!
All along the seaward side of the Marine Drive is a very necessary fence or wall. The cliffs are steep and there's no easy way back up if one should slip! HFF
I did a little bit of HDR on this Bald Eagle to bring out some of the feather detail in the shaded breast area. HSS
I will have to start weaning myself from Flickr over the next few days, so I can prepare to head south to volunteer at Gleanings for the Hungry again. Hopefully I will have some time for Flickr once I arrive and get settled.
I always love it when the sunset lights up the Rampion Wind Farm. It looks so tiny against the clouds.
Went for a walk along the Marine Drive. Its a shame that this little bay is inaccessible without a boat. There is no path down and the cliff sides are too unstable to risk climbing down. Still it provides a pleasant scene from the road.
Explored on 7/03/09; Thanks to Jody for the info!

It has been a glorious spell of calm weather with wall to wall sunshine just a shame it had to end just as the school holidays started! Mind you we needed the rain.

This image was taken at the beginning of September hence the harvested bales in the fields.
The small white building on the point at Long Nab is an old coastguard lookout station which was used as a lookout for tracking submarines during the Second World War.
Today it serves a more peaceful purpose as a bird watching hide.
So if you are done thinking... start you voyage .... Now !

It is still pretty cold and wet and the snow didn't melt until around 11:00 am on the day this was taken, so it seems like it is still winter. But if you look carefully, the trees and bushes are starting to bud and the birds are starting to get more plentiful and active. Here is a Spotted Towhee sitting on a budding bush of some sort. There was even a bit of sun and blue sky. HEoM
Now a closed road, this was a promenade created in the late 19th century allowing well-to-do Victorians a route from Douglas along the beautiful shoreline to the south.
For a time there was a tramway along it as well.
It is now closed to traffic as a through road, with a locked gate across it around halfway, but which pedestrians and cyclists can pass through.
This is the entrance arch at the Douglas end of the road.
This is not far from my home. I stopped the car just a few blocks after leaving for the airport. The fragility of the passing moment was apparent even through the windshield. The mist cleared after three or four shots.

I don't know if this was mom or dad, but this Bald Eagle was feeding the baby eagle some fresh fish.

Baby Eagle: Hey Mom, I am getting tired of fish! Can you bring donuts next time?
Happy National Doughnut (Donut) Day! :-)
Torrential rain and Gusty winds made it almost impossible to take out my camera... but the crashing waves were too hard to resist. So thank you mankind for putting camera on a cellphone... :-)

Great Orme - Llandudno
Wanting a mini sunset adventure i booked a cheap hotel in Llandudno and had a proper explore of the the Great Orme. Pretty decent sunset after the hot humid day. Long walk back to the hotel afterwards, made it back around 11pm. No chance i was getting up for sunrise!
