Chillicothe Pearce Mustangs Students and fans come back after winning the STATE BASKETBALL Tournament. Local news ran the story the following weekend as our Heavyweights were at STATE that week but did not advance. They ran the whole story for both teams on 3/9/1972 instead.

Chillicothe IL Bulletin story about Pearce GS (Mustangs) State Championship WIN. Down by 8 at half for the first time all year, our starters were mad. Coaches Tony Blew and Heavyweight Coach Roger Tramel pointed to the other locker room *you could see all the way into the other locker where Rantoul was jumping up and down, celebrating their 8 point lead *locker rooms were separated by a large coaches room with safety glass windows. Both Coach Tramel and Blew declared "There's not a team down here that can beat you guys!" "LOOK AT THAT!! our coaches yelled! THEY THINK THEY WON ALREADY!!" said Coach Blew. "What are you going to do about it?!!" They then pulled a rolling black-board between us and the view of their locker-room and began a new strategy. WE came back fired up and took the lead in the 3rd. The rest is history as we beat a highly rated team that beat 2 Undefeated teams in the Tournament.

Final Four Fun for fifteen NOLA area military families! Working with Reese’s and Walmart, we showed our gratitude to these military families with a one-of-a-kind personal shopping experience while paired with a NABC Reese’s College All-Star player. But they aren’t done yet! Today, they will celebrate at Reese’s Final Four Friday and then attend the annual NABC Reese’s College All-Star Game so they can cheer for their shopping partner on the court!
