SXSW 2010
Friday, March 19
21st Street Co-op, Austin, Texas
[had to bust out the point & shoot in an attempt to capture how utterly unreal this show experience was-- hundreds of kids packed into a 100-degree room and totally wilding out, some literally climbing in the rafters like orangutans. a SXSW high point for sure.]
While processing the previous picture, I tried playing around with the saturation and white balance and ended up with this. I'm not much into image manipulation (mostly because I do not have the patience for it), I think this is a nice effect.
See the original.

The Map is unusual in that its two annual broods look very different. The summer brood are black with white markings, this is the spring brood ! (Sorry for the bad photo, I had never seen or heard of such a butterfly before)
On the trail there were six points participants had to locate and collect a bead. At the end it spelled a word and they got to make bracelets!
