I spent the last week in Berlin.
6 evenings from 7pm to midnight at the festival of lights - 1400 photos - 3 videos.
The illuminations are art, but my photos are only a documentationof this great event. Nevertheless i guess it's a nice idea to show some examples for tose who weren't there...

Still playing with that lander base; I liked Mladen's comment about the RCS looking a little like a crop duster so I changed them to small radars for terrian mapping/remote sensing. And focused on suggesting more of a mosquito motif.
A photo is a visual description of something or someone out there. Like map-makers, photographers want to portray what is important to them and therefore make a choice what is in the image and what is not. Therefore the final image will be a simplified version of what is out there based on the photographer's selective criteria. Like a map, viewers can 'read' the resulting image. However, map and image are not the same as what is out there. Fuji X-E2 plus Samyang telephoto (mirror) lens.

We met up with Ben, Abby, Elsie and Rachel early Tuesday evening for an Indian meal to celebrate Abby's birthday. The light as we walked from King's Cross to Granary Square was wonderful, so soft.
I am not particularly centred at the moment - distracted by our house being back on the market, the neighbours having chosen this very moment to knock down their garage, and I'm tired too as I was up earlier than usual to take Max to a hospital appointment and didn't sleep well, because I was to get up early . . . how silly is that?!
I shall do my best to catch up, but this may be over a day or two. I know exactly what Karen (Kleiss) means when she says she's always catching up!

By the way, I photographed myself in the bathroom mirror for the big head shot and, yes, I 'shopped away a few wrinkles here and there ;-).
