In the deep of winter, sometimes it is difficult to shoot photos of nature against a series of extreme weather warnings. But nature can be invited indoors through our lenses and integrated with potted plants. This photo made use of Nikon D850's multiple exposure function and consists of 3 images, 2 outside and one indoors.

Made by Bomard Industries Grand Haven,Michigan (20th century), fiberglass, chromed steel, rubber, other metals and vinyl

The aluminum prototype for this futuristic bicycle was handmade by MG Auto Company in England in 1946 and incorporated an ingenious dynamo that stored the downhill energy and released it on uphill runs.It was prohibitively expensive for consumer production, but in 1960 Bowden contracted with Bomard Industries in Michigan to produce this more mechanically conventional,one- speed version of the dynamic organic design in fiberglass,a new design material.Ultimately, the endeavor was too costly for Bomard Industries as well and the firm went out of business after only manufacturing only 522 examples.

The first BMW M car, the BMW M1 was conceived to challenge Porsche in the mid-1970's Sports Car Championship. Delays with development partner, Lamborghini, led to a late launch of 1979 yet the M1 provided huge entertainment during the two year Procar series which accompanied some Gran Prixs. Many top F1 drivers drove 450bhp racing M1s against private owners. The M1 also won its class at Le Mans on several occasions and in other great road races. The ultimate BMW M1 was the German GT series contender which had twin turbo chargers and produced 850bhp.

This particular BMW M1 was extensively refurbished in 2016 in time for BMW's centenary and celebrations at The Goodwood Festival of Speed.

.An example is the brick, six-story Atrium building on the northwest corner of St. Paul and Andrews streets. It was built in 1884 for Tichner and Jacobi tailors for $60,000. When the three top floors burst into flames 10 years later, attracting a throng of onlookers, three clothing manufacturers were located there.

Here is something I do the electrical design for at work. I'd just finished testing. The HDR processing fits a factory and steel very well.

The Packard Automotive Plant is a former automobile-manufacturing factory in Detroit, Michigan where luxury cars were made by the Packard Motor Car Company and later by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation.

The 3,500,000-square-foot (325,000 m2), plant was designed by Albert Kahn Associates using Trussed Concrete Steel Company products. It is located on 40 acres (16 ha) of land on East Grand Boulevard on the city's east side. It included the first use of reinforced concrete in the United States for industrial construction in the automobile industry.[1][2][3][4][5]

The Packard plant was opened in 1903 and at the time was considered the most modern automobile manufacturing facility in the world with skilled craftsmen involved in over eighty trades. The factory complex closed in 1958, though other businesses operated on the premises or used it for storage until the late 1990s.

It would appear that the American Manufacturing Bldg was lost for good today in the biggest alarm fire in the last 10years not including 9/11. Apparently the neighborhood were fighting the developers as they tried to declare it a Historic National Landmark. Coincidence or not, the owner of the property had previously in 2003 been investigated for arson on another piece of land in dumbo which went down in similiar fashion.

It is a great loss!

Manufactured And Not

I've always been fascinated by the steam coming out of these towers in the winter. A still photograph really doesn't do this phenomenon justice. But the light was right and I was in town.
