First time I see it in orange, according to the "eye mark" on the for leg it must be a Mantis religiosa

Esta mantis llamada Empusa o Mantis palo, es en mi opinión una de las mantis más bonitas que tenemos en Málaga. La especie es la Empusa pennata, orden Mantodeo y Familia Empusidae. Esta especie está protegida en España, así que por mucho que guste como mascota, esta prohibido llevarlas a casa 😀.
Particularmente este insecto me encanta, su forma es increíble y sus colores varían tremendamente según el entorno, incluso en las mudas cambian de color si el entorno cambia, una preciosidad 😍.
La de esta fotografía, que hice el pasado domingo, es una ninfa hembra. Al contrario que otras mantis esta especie pasa el invierno como ninfas y no la primavera. Los machos tienen las antenas en forma de pluma y las hembras, como la de la foto, tiene esa gran protuberancia hacia arriba en la cabeza.
Es una de las mantis mas "peleonas" y se defiende con gran fiereza ( por muy chikitina que sea lucha con tesón y lo he comprobado tocándola ligeramente con el dedo 😋) y es increíble la velocidad a la que corre es espacios despejados y sin obstáculos .... también lo he comprobado y no creeríais la velocidad que pilla .
En resumidas cuentas .... un insecto único y precioso que hay que verlo en la naturaleza, no disecado ni en terrarios .....
