To Tschey! Man-Love!

Be sure to tack this up on the new house a time or eight....

Hi5!

I don't know about you but I'm tired of looking at castles and big houses! I want to get out and about and see people and places in their daily settings so what better way to do it than in an open topped tram? This pristine "Perrott Steam Car" fits the bill to perfection!

My friend Matt dropped by my office with a pizza. I told him he was going to guest star in my 365 shot and the thought of instant fame made him giddy. So, Matt sends his love to Flickr.

A homage (tribute?) to one of the most popular and iconic photographs by a PIPster... :-)

Is it a worthy homage? :-P

The view isn't not much and it is that high up you couldn't see out anyway but if you did manage to look out you looked directly out on the courthouse. Built in 1896 the jail housed many notorious criminals. including Oliver Lee accused in the infamous 1896 disappearance and murder near White Sands of Judge Albert J. Fountain and his eight-year-old son Henry. The Jail was immortalized in many Eugene Manlove Rhodes, the cowboy chronicler, stories. A window I don't think I'd ever want to look out!

When Beefy and I discovered both a Manlove street and a Manlove park in our neighborhood, we giggled and insisted our realtor drive close enough to a street sign to take a picture. Almost three years later, we are WAY more mature and don’t give the name a second thought. Except that I did take a picture of the park sign, today.

Shirt, BCBG Max Azria. Dress, swap. Shoes, Linea Paolo. Earrings, self-made. Sunglasses, Marc by Marc Jacobs. Bag, Croft & Barrow.

I imagine Manlove was an important figure in our area’s history, but that’s got to be a tough last name to carry in elementary school. Not as bad as Hiscock, though. We have an acquaintance with that last name and the guy OWNS it. When his name was mispronounced at a recent Toastmasters meeting, he corrected the speaker and baldly told us that it was pronounced “his” (pause) “cock.” He knows people are going to snigger but would just rather get that cleared up right away so we can move on to the next topic. I guess that’s what you’ve got to do.

No matter your name, I think someone can find a way to make fun of it. I had a college friend who made the most horrible rhyme with "Kasmira," but, thankfully, that hasn't been repeated. She was unusually inventive.

Cartoon tribute to 1950s low-budget Hollywood film director Edward D. Wood Jr (1924-1978) and his stars and players. Much maligned for his undoubtably low budget movies he persevered with following his heart, his passion for film-making, despite never achieving a financial break or professional acknowledgement from his peers in his lifetime. Unlike so many of his critics, however, he produced and achieved theatre releases of 6 of his films, during the period of 1953-1960 that end with a final credit, "Made in Hollywood'. Now considered a cult director his films - including Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959) - have been available on videocassette and DVD since the 1980s.

I know we're over the "Holiday Season" BUT I found this rather peculiar RPPC of Santa Claus with a Teddy Bear sitting on a handsome man's lap who is holding a 'baby doll'! To paraphrase Graham Chapman - "This photo illustrates Santa's 'er love for his fellow man".

i believe the last time i suggested mike take his shirt off for a picture he said something along the lines of:

silly me, i should have given him a bud light first! not only did he take his clothes off without any prompting, but he specifically requested that these pictures be put up on the internet so the world could witness his macho manlove for his good friend albert.

Sacramento Regional Transit light rail car 114(one of 36 model U2A cars made by Siemens Transportation Systems f.k.a. Siemens-Duewag that were delivered between 1987 and 1992)at Watt/Manlove light rail station on the Gold Line and making an eastbound trip to Sunrise station. On the day I took this picture(December 10,2009),not only did this car(just one of eleven cars;the others being 101, 107, 110, 111, 115, 116, 118, 122, 133, and 134;with this paint scheme shared with the 1500,1600,2600,2700,2800,and 2900 series buses)just have its manual scrolling headsigns replaced by new Twin Vision LED headsigns, but it was the very first car(out of a combined 76 light rail cars:36 Siemens cars numbered 101-136 and 40 CAF cars delvered in 2003 and numbered 201-240)to get the headsign upgrade. As it turned out, though it would be the only such upgraded car in the light rail fleet for 2 years,it would be just the beginning.Beginning around the 2011 holiday season(and possibly as early as Veterans Day 2011),RT began the ongoing process(as of this writing on July 27,2017)of replacing the roll-down headsigns with digital ones:Not only are the manual headsigns now extinct on the Siemens cars(all 36 such cars have now been upgraded),but are also nearing extinction on the CAF cars as well(207 is the only CAF car that have yet to receive the headsign upgrade but has been idle in the storage yard and out of service since at least mid-2012;while 240 was the first CAF car to receive digital headsigns). On top of that, the 21 ex-Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority light rail cars that RT acquired years ago and is rehabbing for the purpose of recommissioning them for spares(and for that purpose will be renumbered 301-321;cars 301-306,308-310,312,314-316,319,321,and likely others are already in service;with 302,304,305,308,310,312,and 314 being the first restored cars to be put in service around September 2015 though most have only sporadically used due to additional rehab maintenance needed)are already equipped with slightly different digital headsigns. On the subject of new paint jobs,at least 20 other Siemens cars(besides 101,107,110,111,115,116,118,122,133,134,and this car)have also received new paint jobs within the past decade:109(which in early 2012 was repainted into a special scheme for use on the Green Line which opened that spring as a stub to Richards Boulevard/Township 9 but has longer term aspirations to go all the way to Sacramento International Airport)and multiple cars painted in livery promoting RT services (102,106,120,131,and 132 feature a pictorial/cartographical scheme promoting its mobile fare app for Apple and Android smartphones;with 103,112,121,126,127 and 130 have a blue and yellow scheme promoting upcoming Golden 1 Center event service to the new home of the Sacramento Kings;also 105,108,113,117,124,125 and 129 having a multicolored variant of that same Golven 1 Center service livery;and 104 having a 'blue sky' scheme with the slogan 'Moving forward together' promoting its partnership with various ride-sharing services).Additionally, car 116 has been repainted twice:in late 2001 it was repainted(first ever repainted RT rolling stock, period)into the scheme used by both the CAF cars as well as some long-retired buses that were gone in phases by 2011(including not only all 9600 and 2000 series buses, but also a handful of repainted 8500,9000,9300 and 9400 series buses)and it kept that livery until repainted into its current scheme by the 2015 holiday season.Additionally, though with original scheme intact on the ends, car 123 is now wrapped with Dignity Health's 'Hello humankindness' slogan, the first third-party ad on an RT rail car in some 2 decades.I must now add that the original 1987 livery is now near extinction on the Siemens cars as only 119,128,135,and 136 have yet to be repainted/wrapped though the last mentioned car has been inactive for over a month due to a parts/maintenance issue. On the subject of wrapping, even some the 200-series CAF'S have started to get ad wraps (209 and 237 fully wrapped for 'The Bridge District' in West Sacramento with several others half wrapped on one side for the Folsom Automall and/or its component dealerships)...

Had a very odd conversation with Phil today about Ann Summers.

We theorised that the reason most men will feel awkward when going into these shops (even if it's with a partner) is because we don't have the same tradition of fancy or sexy underwear so being in such a concentration of it will just instantly instill a sense of guilt.

We each had a similar experience of going in their with girlfriends, all excited that we got to choose essentially the slutty numbers our partners would be seen in, and then having the sense of excitement fade away when they go to the changing room and you're left ALONE in Ann Summers. Usually at the back of the room where they keep the vibrators and sketchy PVC gear.

Maybe we boys should try and make pants sexy...or maybe it's too late to correct these decades of conditioning.

Anyway enjoy my pants!
