Manitou Springs has been attracting visitors since the 1880's. Sandwiched between Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods, there are also numerous mineral springs scattered around town.

n summer local residents flock to Manitou Beach on Little Manitou Lake in central Saskatchewan, Canada. The lake water is three times saltier than the world's oceans.
While anchored at North Manitou Island in 16 ft of water, the clear water gave a good view of the lake bed. South Manitou Island is on the horizon.

This is a photo of the trail to the sand dunes on the West side of South Manitou Island. The landscape is lit my the light of the full moon. Since it was impossible to focus the camera in the dark, I had Paul walk half way up the dune and turn on his flashlight. After I focused the camera, he turned the light off for the 20 second exposure. If you look closely, Paul is still on the dune.

May 8, 2023: Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Manitou Springs, Colorado.
Built between 1904-1907, The Manitou Cliff Dwellings is a privately owned tourist attraction with a recreated Anasazi cliff dwelling, museum, and gift shop. Visitors can walk and climb through the recreated cliff dwellings. The cliff dwellings are based on actual examples found in Mesa Verde National Park and similar preserved sites.
The Anasazi, also known as the Ancestral Puebloans, lived in the Four Corners area of the American Southwest from about 1200 BC to AD 1300.
