Located along Fountain Creek it was once used as a mineral water bathhouse or spa.

This photo was taken while backpacking on South Manitou Island. This is the beach near the lighthouse facing West. We had been stranded on the island for two extra days without food. The ferry could not run due to the storms.

The Manitou Island ferries wait out the winter here, in the harbor at Leland, Michigan. During the summer, adventurers use the ferries to access the remote and rugged Manitou Islands just off the coast of northern Michigan.
