A southbound BNSF manifest eases out of the recently expanded siding at Marcel after waiting for a northbound Z train to clear.
While on my way to work I noticed the tail of a CP EB clearing thru Lovekin and made a quick detour at Westlyville. The morning fog mixed with the late sunrise made for abit of interest to an otherwise boring train.

Challenging myself as usual. I nearly always have difficulty creating symmetry on these type of rotation shots and tonight was no exception. Happy to be messing around in the conservatory whilst the wind and rain is coming down outside.

A sizable Union Pacific manifest passes the empty yard tracks at Origination in Maplewood along the Altoona Subdivision. Odd to see this site without cars, so I wonder what is up. Thanks to the signaling system in Lake Elmo that tipped me off that a westbound movement was out there heading towards Saint Paul.
A long manifest train is catching some rays while gaining a little speed as he passes through Munger.

Tucson, Arizona to El Paso, Texas tonnage starts to pull out of Tucson in the late afternoon with more than favorable light on not only the train but the Santa Catalina Mountains in the distance, due to in part by a dead North/South orientation the track for about a mile along side Alvernon Way. This made for a great spot to catch this eastbound in the late afternoon in the winter and also benefits westbounds in the summertime looking the other way if you'd like to look south granted the view isn't as good.

I've been watching and hearing political demonstrations in Catalonia for months. One of them is the request for freedom to political prisoners where a yellow ribbon is used as a symbol. Walking through Barcelona, the gesture of green hope of these shoes with one of those ties drawn in the middle of the avenue, forced me to pick it up.
I normally don't photograph the end of a train unless there's a DPU present. However, I would like to showcase of the kind of weather conditions one can expect high up in the Colorado Rockies at 9,000+ ft during the winter. The wind is howling as the end of BNSF's Denver, Colorado to Provo, Utah manifest heads west up the 2-percent grade at East Portal on February 24, 2016.
