Manga, manga and more manga. XD Set 1

A man is resurrected as a robot called “Gilfer” after him and his girlfriend perished in a battle. Using his new robot body he becomes a bounty hunter, with plans to use the money he earns to clone his original body and also his girlfriend. The series was cancelled after thirteen chapters in 1984, and two volumes were published.

The only Manga series I collect (due to space/money constraints). This is just a simple shot of the manga I currently have on my shelf. I collect only new to good condition manga, preferably ones with the obi sash (although these are hard to find, especially in the older releases), and with all the posters intact. I also keep them in plastic.

‘Cancelled! Behind the scenes from Shonen Jump's Golden Age’ by Kōji Maki!

Kōji Maki’s autobiographical manga about his time at Shonen Jump in the 80’s. Covering his start as an assistant to Tetsuo Hara for Hokuto No Ken, also his rivalry with Tsukasa Hojo & Hirohiko Araki. Seeing his works such as Gilfer, Metal K, Godsider published and cancelled. And his decision to start working on seinen manga instead.

Although Kōji Maki struggled to keep up a successful series during his time at Shonen Jump, his works are still remembered by many.

Despite having an underrated career, his creations were published along side some of the best artist/series during the greatest era in Shonen Jump history.
