This painting was done for my AS exam. I used watercolour to paint the buildings around a photocopy of the elephant I drew. This painting was inspired by Manchester architecture and one of my favourite artists, Martin Wittfooth. He paints animals with industrial objects and he also highlights the environmental problems of today. I really like him because I am also interested in preserving the environment and raise questions about it in my art. The painting excites me because it has elements of Surrealism.

Manchester Photowalk 071023
A little over a week ago, I went for a photowalk around Manchester – the first time for a while. From Piccadilly Railway Station, I walked past and through Deansgate Square to Castlefields with its canals, bridges and Roman remains. After a walk around the Museum of Science and Industry and its surrounding area, I walked back to the station via the Library and Mosley Street. Today's photos are of the architecture I passed.
