Yashka is ready to play continuously, but we are not able to satisfy his requests. And Yashka is often bored, but sometimes he plays with his toys alone, or chases the cat around the garden.
Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
Lhoist's road train is seen as it's about to cross Mammy's Creek Trestle as it heads for the interchange in Rockwood. Since the arrival of the 3043, it's been rare for either of the high hoods to appear on the point of the road train, so to have both of them powering the days train is certainly a plus, especially since the 4021 is rarely seen on it dating back to its Franklin days. This would also turn out to be the first day for about a month that these engines would be the road power while the 3138 was getting radiator repairs & the 3043 would serve as the plant switcher. 10-30-20
We came across Mammy's Cupboard just south of Natchez, Mississippi. It first struck me as some old-time kitschy Americana style diner. However, as I looked closer I wasn't sure if I should be amused or appalled.
It plays on the Aunt Jemima racial stereotype of a black mammy wearing a red scarf, a white blouse, and a red hoopskirt. From what history I could find it was built in 1939-40 to capitalize on the hype of the movie "Gone With the Wind". I wouldn't suggest that we get rid of this and try to pretend it never happened; we need to remember both the good and the bad of where we have come from. Having said that, this seems to be presented as nothing has changed or needs to change which I find rather saddening.
As always, your comments and faves are appreciated. Constructive criticism and suggestions are especially welcome as I believe they help to make me a better photographer. Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos.
I’m not much into avian photography ... unless the avian subjects almost walk into my office. The alarm call went thru the office “ Look duck family just outside “ so I had camera and lenses and had to do it. Mama Duck and 10 little ducklings walking thru the parking lot and grass patches around the offices. Our office is 3 blocks away from the river and Mama Duck forgot GPS , I hope that they can make it back to the river as the bullies of the sky were gathering above ( I hate crows ). After taking bunch of shoots I went back to the office and Trevor looked at the LCD on the camera and said “ so you are going to post it and going to get 1000 views in a day , just because they are so cute and I have 32 view in my entire stream “ . Here is Trevor and his stream www.flickr.com/photos/tjc_photography/ - he is into “wild” live photography , just starting but very promising

Mammy: You know what trouble I's talkin' 'bout. I's talking 'bout Mr. Ashley Wilkes. He'll be comin' to Atlanta when he gets his leave, and you sittin' there waitin' for him, just like a spider. He belongs to Miss Melanie...

Mammy,
Mammy,
The sun shines east, the sun shines west,
I know where the sun shines best--
Mammy,
My little mammy,
My heartstrings are tangled around Alabammy.
I'm comin',
Sorry that I made you wait.
I'm comin',
Hope and trust that I'm not late, oh oh oh
Mammy,
My little Mammy,
I'd walk a million miles
For one of your smiles,
My Mammy! Oh oh oh...
