Not trying to body-shame the C-17, the Mallrats quote just worked well. McChord-based Moose heading off into the sunset at NAF El Cento.
They're going to extensively renovate this mall this year, closing (and relocating) all of the stores on the north wall (the right side of the photo) of this side of the mall, presumably to widen the corridor a bit.

Look around you, chill, vapid, consumerism. No anxiety crisis. The only sounds are the faint mall music and the occasional person walking by in the mostly deserted building... But this Friday the mall's greek statues are gonna dance to the rhythm of DJ Petra!

Though parent company TransWorld Entertainment has since dissolved the "Saturday Matinee" brand, this left-behind store layout still dons a familiar sight to many 90's mallrats. Existing inside the Crystal Mall in Waterford, CT, as an f.y.e., TransWorld's remaining brands continually face its own liquidation as the physical-digital showdown continues, morphing into anything to stay relevant in America's indoor malls today.

Theme Rules:
Let’s travel back to the future and revisit the outrageous, eccentric decade of the 1980s. From iconic to over-the-top, the ‘80s was one of the most influential decades in fashion, pop culture, and even politics. You can approach this theme from any perspective you can think of: No idea, shoulder pad or hairstyle is too big! Your doll could pay tribute to one of her favorite style or music icons of the '80s as seen on a teen magazine or music cassette cover. She could be a mallrat, shopping for a punk leather jacket and lace gloves. Is your doll getting physical by sporting leotards and leg warmers like video workout queen/actress Jane Fonda, or is he about to cut footloose a la Kevin Bacon at an '80s themed costume party? From your doll sitting in a room with Duran Duran and Princess Diana posters on the wall, to riding in a sleek, "talking" Pontiac Trans AM, let your imagination go as wild as the decade!
About this photo:
Rogue is wearing a graphic tee of The Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 #171 comic book cover which was published in 1983. This is when we see Rogue officially become a member of the X-MEN team. I know this isn't an overly outrageous '80s photo, but her hair does look a little big. xD

Themes for the month of November:
D - Doppelgänger
Look-alike. Clone. Spitting image. They say everyone has a twin, and the same is true in the dolly world! For this theme, you must photograph two dolls that bear a strong physical resemblance to each other. You can achieve this through identical face sculpts, similar hair styles, and/or matching outfits. How you choose to approach this theme is entirely up to you. Just be sure we think we are seeing double!
*Special note: This doppelgänger theme was a suggestion from Smitten www.flickr.com/photos/131751222@N07/. Thank you so much for this terrific theme idea!
E - Everything ‘80s

F - Frozen
Brrr! Baby, it's cold outside! This theme is all about feeling the chill of winter. Show your doll doing his or her best to enjoy the freezing temperatures outside with activities like ice skating or skiing. Think magazine photoshoots featuring crisp menswear amid snow-covered landscapes and gray blue skies, or capture the magic of the season with ice castles and snow queen makeup editorials. From frosted cabin windows to glistening ice caves, snowmen and polar bears, there are lots of "cool" possibilities for this theme.
Make sure to title your photos with the theme you are representing. (example: A-Z challenge: A - Apple)
D - Doppelgänger
E - Everything ‘80s
F - Frozen
Most importantly, have lots of fun! Let's get those creative juices flowing! :)

About this photo: Oh, I was so excited for us to announce this theme (I'd been feeling incredibly nostalgic about this decade from my childhood). My original idea was to recreate an iconic music video...but enter a non-cooperative ebay seller and my props never arrived! So.....with just a few days left for the theme deadline, I had to figure out a new direction, and here it is: My homage to the glamorous '80s TV Vixen. If one watched daytime or nighttime dramas, you could always find a strong-willed female out to get what she wanted, and she did it with full hair and shoulder pads galore! In this photo, Kumi particularly reminds me of Donna Mills as Abby Ewing from the Dallas spin-off Knots Landing: www.memorabletv.com/tv/knots-landing-cbs-1979-1993-donna-...
I was a little disappointed with the quality of this image as I was editing, but with no time to retake it, I then figured that perhaps the slightly blurry image could also be a tribute to those super soft lenses and "glamour" shots for romanticized magazine ads? xP
Doll: High Frequency Kumi, working that name with high-volume hair in this photo!
Jacket and Belt: Vintage Mattel (late '80s)
Pants: offbrand
Jewelry: some handmade

My photo: Many stars were born in '80s, too. I think Madonna is also one of the typical stars in '80s. Her style at the time was a headribbon, curly hair, bustier, cross top necklace, layering necklaces and so on.

While at the BANKSY Baerly Legal show on Sunday (in Los Angeles) we came across Jason Lee as many others in attendance did. He was chill and let me take his photo.
Back in the late 1980's I used to skate at a lot of the same spots as he did (H Ramps, Scooters ramp & Huntington High). He is actually the first person I ever saw do a handrail in person. He was riding for Z-Roller back then.
You all probably know him from: MALLRATS or My Name is Earl
He currently is running Stereo Sound Agency (Stereo Skateboards)
Non vivere su questa terra
come un estraneo
e come un vagabondo sognatore.
Vivi in questo mondo
come nella casa di tuo padre:
credi al grano, alla terra, al mare,
ma prima di tutto credi all'uomo.
Ama le nuvole, le macchine, i libri,
ma prima di tutto ama l'uomo.
Senti la tristezza del ramo che secca,
dell'astro che si spegne,
dell'animale ferito che rantola,
ma prima di tutto senti la tristezza
e il dolore dell'uomo.
Ti diano gioia
tutti i beni della terra:
l'ombra e la luce ti diano gioia,
le quattro stagioni ti diano gioia,
ma soprattutto, a piene mani,
ti dia gioia l'uomo!
Nazim Hikmet

Insight on my Submission:
I was so tempted to do a rock concert theme with Jem and Pizzazz, but my Muse has been wanting to do this picture for a while. I actually wanted to do this for the "Tribute to Barbie" competition, but time slipped away so quickly.
When I received Alysa. I was blown away by her makeup. It totally channeled the 80's Barbies I used to have. Alysa helped fill the void of my childhood Barbies. So I decided to go the route my muse wanted and picked Alysa to star in this Everything 80s challenge.
Alysa is getting ready for prom. She of course couldn't skip her nightly outing at the roller rink. She lost track of time, so she is eating soup on top of the washing machine while jamming out to one of her favorite mixed tapes that she made, which is really heavy with Duran Duran and The Go-Go's song selections. While waiting for her post-prom outfit to finish washing.
She is still indecisive. She can't decide if she wants to wear the short hot pink dress, or the glitzy sequined prom dress, for prom tonight. ;)
I was born in the 80’s and had older siblings who were kids/teens in the 80’s, so I am steeped in 80’s nostalgia.
I grew up with the music, movies, Toys, and turmoil of the decade. I feel like I was spoiled for choice as far as subjects for this shot! So many options it was difficult to choose!
Anyways, I picked my surviving childhood Beach Blast Miko as the subject for a simple portrait for my 80’s themed shot. I got doubles of this Miko, and they stayed nearly identical twins for a long time, but a few years ago I dug this doll out for a makeover because she was looking a little ratty. She got a haircut and a face-up so she is looking a little different than back in the day!
I have been seeing a lot of the 10 year challenges across social media. Showcasing people’s photos from 2009 compared to 2019 so the government can have an easier time fine tuning their facial recognition software...
How about a 30 year challenge! Here is Beach Blast Miko, released in 1989, she is 30 this year and looking better than ever!

About this picture:
"I just found this" said Wyn in a shaky smile
"Look, it's a photograph! I think it was called...a polaroid"
"That's how earthlings used to call our LaserPix?" asked Aylin curiously
"Oh, LaserPix are probably a little more elaborate...but yes, the concept is similar...but Ay...I said...look. I mean...look at her"
"Holy Kronos" gasped Aylin picking the old photograph from her friend's hand. As a saturn girl of the year 2081 Aylin never held such an old object. It felt dusty at the touch and terribly ancient, as if it was just stolen from the shrine of a museum.
"It's you" she wispered looking at the girl glancing from the portrait
"It's definitely you! And I was falling for it!"
"No!" laughed Wyn "This is not a joke, I swear, it's my father's great-grandmother...or something...more? 1989...I am bad at maths...anyway, her name was Winifred, by the way, but you can read it down there where she wrote it, I guess..."
"...Best nite of my life?" laughed Aylin silently judging the peculiar spelling of an otherwise familiar word
"And wow, look at her outfit! It looks so...wide for her...and that hair...
I wonder who she was saying thanks to. And why. It must have been a guy. Maybe your great-great-great grandad"
"Who knows" sgrugged Wyn smiling
"But it's so weird, isn't it? I feel like I am looking in a mirror...yet this woman lived almost one hundred years before I was even born...I wish my power could feel her presence...but it doesn't. I want to know more about her. Maybe I will ask my father..."
