I'm pretty sure the doll on the left is a 1st or 2nd gen Original Superstar Barbie a nd the girl on the right is may be a Dream Date or Crystal doll with a terrible hair cut. Much cleaning to do!
I just thought she was too pretty to leave behind. Quick bath and a comb through her hair and she'll be perfect again!

This is much fun!:) her pool holds three gallons of water! Play with it outside. Because you can't pick up the pool. Easier to drain it if its outside!:)

I've dressed my malibù dolls with some outfits I managed to get during the last months... not 100% sure that each one is wearin' her original clothes, but I like the ensemble look... so sporty!!!

This is an actual photo of my first Barbie found in a set of old photos in a box in a drawer. I bought her from a toy store in Montrose, California called "Bert's Toys" or "Burt's Toys(?). They had a lot of old Mattel stock. I believe Hawaiian Barbie was released in 1979. I gave all my Mattel dolls away to a friend a few years later. She took care of them for a while until she had a garage sale and sold them all many years later. Hawaiian Barbie had the Steffie head sculpt. She is still one of my two favorite Mattel head sculpts, the other being Twist and Turn Barbie.

Decided to take some photos of the clothes I got in the Gumtree lot quite a while back, now. PJ is wearing a Best Buys dress from 1976 (#9571), Malibu Barbie is wearing 1974 Sweet Sixteen Barbie's dress and I think the outfit on the right is a clone outfit?
These dolls didn't come with the lot but they volunteered to be my models. ;)

IMPORTANT NOTES: You'll note that these dolls have subtly different screenings (the gal on the left has two toned irises). I did extensive research, finding images of this doll sealed in her boxed. I saw both facial variations packaged as this doll. I believe the country of manufacturer indicates the subtle change. This doll was available with either the 1976 "Superstar" head mold or the 1965 head mold. This same facial screening (with 1976 head mold) and hairstyle were used on 1979 Malibu the Beach Party and 1978 Sun Lovin' Malibu Barbie.

Here is my Malibu Barbie and Ken from when I was a kid too - I got the set one Christmas in the early 70's. I loved this trio!!!

I almost had a Malibu Barbie when IW as a kid. But when I got her home, she was broken. So we had to take her back to Target and they didn't have anymore, so I got some other Barbie instead. At least when I bought this repoduction doll I finally got my Malibu Barbie!
Well here is Eliza!:) she looks way happier now! That dust was so thick, you couldn't wipe it off with your finger! I had to scrub to get it off!
She's completely restored! She needs her bathing suit now, more of like I need to make her one now!lol
I've always wanted her, this version anyway! I have others, but I still need to repaint her tan lines!:)
La mia prima Malibu,ne volevo davvero una,non sara' la piu' bella prodotta,ma comunque molto amata.Non sopportavo piu' quegli orribili capelli paglia,cosi' mi sono data al reeroot.
I've wanted her for a long time! Sadly she doesn't come with her outfit, but I'm going to use her for a custom ball gown Ariel!:)
