191116: I'm currently trying to make videos. In my IGTV I've already shown you a few, but I have not found the ideal video setup yet. This video setup was one of my first attempts (which, by the way, worked amazingly well.) –––––––––

I have put each of these three boys in the same framing device because they are the middle three brothers of a family of eight children. Perhaps getting a bit less attention than either the top or the bottom of the pack, they get a little more of mine, though I have now photographed them all!
Our simple set up for shooting videos for video email, blog posts, social media, and other uses consists of 3 pieces of equipment: Sony HDR-CX160 camcorder, Sony ECM-AW3 Bluetooth wireless microphone, and Slik U 8000 tripod.
Together, they cost just over $500 and provide great flexibility.
Then we moved into one of the hotel rooms.
The guy with the headphones is the sound man.
In the morning we were at the Hotel Nikko, a 5-star hotel in downtown Wuxi. I have to admit, the hotel staff generally had more lines than we did. I only have photos of David as I was taking the pictures and he had more scenes than I did, but I did get a chance to stretch my acting wings a bit too.
March 16, 2013, the day before Joey's wedding, David and I were hired to be actors in an education video. We got to play foreigners (a bit of a stretch, I know) doing various things in a hotel. They video was to accompany an existing text for a hotel and hospitality English course and we were basically acting out all of the dialogue scenes. It was a fun way to spend a day even if we couldn't correct the occasional bit of Chinglish in the script.

The filming ended off in the hotel restaurant.

Everyone took a turn in front of the camera, behind the camera, on the audio recording gear and asking the questions, during a Life's Big Questions workshop in Cleve in March.
I made myself a fort. Well a backdrop of inspirational stuff that my contributors and I created last year.
How long will the cardboard last....
The first scenes were filmed in the hotel lobby.

Tunarama 2014 - filming Joshy Willo and band as they played on the sound stage. Was a great set by the Elliston lad and crew.
Then I just found a really cool fake tat of a camera and went for that instead.
But I'm still kind of debating it!
Emma Richards asked me to come and teach her and these young Barngala youth about video making techniques so we could make a Video Postcard movie together.

Some of the stuff we did you can see here - getting the audio adjusted, waiting for the talent to sit so we can get the right shot focused and adjusting the microphone so that you can sit down comfortably.
In my first workshop with crew from Baptist Care, we focused on photography. Here Tania takes a photo of Quade and Bryce playing some tunes outside the Baptist Church.
What a backdrop. Ari learns the art of filming landscapes from the Winters Hill lookout in Port Lincoln.
Pointing out the actual questions and the follow up questions to Brad during a Life's Big Questions workshop at Port Lincoln High School.
I hadn't either, until we were informed during a Life's Big Questions workshop at the Port Lincoln Library on Library Lovers Day. You can watch it here - open.abc.net.au/projects/life-s-big-questions-94nx4wz/con...
