Sopot, Monte Casino St.

Several of you have been kind enough to ask "Where are You?". I have been hired by several cute ladies to sell their antique doll collections. Their revenge is to get $500 -$800 for dolls their children thought were worthless. A fun experience for me to research and photo these dolls.

If you have time , check out this fun link to an e-Bay song that my grandsons shared with me.

Here in Tennessee, they'd call that YELLER.

Lots of wonderful street music in the old town in Quebec city. This scruffy duo was playing some good down home New Orleans style blues while making a semi living as buskers. I often make a contribution of any amount or buy a CD to take home with me. They were great.

Picture taken on Southsea Beach .One of our past Prime Ministers defence forts,is pictured to the right of shot and never fired a shot in anger.55 seconds of exposure to the defense of our Realm!!!

A shop on wheels. Pinoy man pedals thru the streets of Malate Manila selling his plastic wares on a tricycle.

Taken for the Active Assignment Weekly! group. This week's assignment: Show me the money, honey

I have to admit that on first sight I found the dare quite surreal this week (what on earth has money to do with razor foam???). But it turned out that it was this absurdity that got me creative again.

So here I present my newest invention: The Dollarfoam!!!

Creates soft and silky dollarnotes with a single gentle press on the button. Only 9.99 $ per can (contains up to 9 shots).

Go for the full size.

What it took:

Found the only dollar that I still have in the house (I did not want to use swiss francs or euro bills as they are too colored), folded it into the right position and glued it on a stick so that I could arrange it properly. At f/4 I used my speedlite at 1/32 with the diffusor box lighting directly from above. After having shot the dollar I took a second shot with the foam that I actually fired. In post processing I adjusted the can colors to the dollar colors (esthetics, you know...) warped the blasted foam and the bill , added some graduated motion blur to the bill and blended everything together. There was too much negative space so I cropped to widescreen (16:9) in the end and added some vignette as a sort of border.

Thought it would be fun to put a 'tax button" on my simple calculator. Boy that would be nice if all you had to do was click on the tax button and your taxes would be done.

I just watched the documentary movie on DVD “Exit Through The Gift Shop” by famous UK street artist Banksy the day before.

It is the story about Thierry Guetta, a French immigrant living in LA who shot a lot of films on street artists and he finally becomes one himself.

At the end of the movie, Thierry Guetta achieved huge success in his first art show and sold his works for million dollars in just a few days.

If turning pro and selling your photographic works or services in a competitive consumer market is tough, please consider making yourself an artist.

Once you are made into an artist or claimed to be an artist, your work is no longer priced according to the rules set in a consumer market. A photograph can be sold probably at Euro $5 million because it is going to a museum or the private arts collection of a wealthy businessman.

Nobody can decide whether you are an artist or a great artist. It is just you!

My description today has nothing to do with my picture taken at BCIT Aerospace campus last weekend.

P.S. Arts is no longer for the sake of arts. Arts is always for the sake of money. Sometimes arts is for the sake of fame. But ultimately fame is for the sake of money. Once your beautiful work end up in the museum, you can only exit through the gift shop!

This is all you get today because I kind of have my hands full for the day. Pulled this from my archives - I took it like last weekend.

So...the reason for the title here is...not only do I babysit my 9-year-old brother three days a week, every week, but I'm also babysitting an 11-month-old for today. Of course, she's into everything so I can't be on much until this evening. But hey... Flickr all day or make money - which would you pick? Sorry guys, I love you all but I need the caaash =P

Haha I'm kidding, I'll be on and off throughout the day, but... won't be around all day long as usual. I also have a Geometry test to do and a Short Stories final to do - then I'm done with high school for the rest of my life! YESSS!!!!

Leave me love and faves and make my day even better =P

Recently, the Sudan has caught gold fever. Thousands of amateur gold diggers have come from all over the country. I stop off in Akhanag. Don’t try looking for it on a map; a few months ago it didn’t actually exist. A 24-kilo gold nugget was found here, and ever since it’s been the gold rush. Mohamed is 15; he left his family in his native Darfur to come to dig and become rich from it. For the time being, he finds about two grams a day, which earns him about ten euros. It’s enough to buy a decent meal every day in the best local restaurant.

I've gone back to kindergarten. I'm still playing with LEGO, but this time I'm actually getting paid.... (Okay, so I really just watch kids play with LEGO, but hey, it's better than nothing!)

(I've accepted a position as a full-day bilingual Kindergarten teacher. So there won't be many cheese slopes in my future, but at least it's nice to see kids thrilled with our DUPLO. Of course, they only get a tiny smidgeon of what we have, but they still love it.)

PS..... see you next June or so....
