Bridge and team rooms.

Hef and I were travelling to Bodnant Gardens, [ National Trust ] and stopped in Llanrwst.

It was another lovely Sunday afternoon in October.

Photographs to follow soon, of gardens.

We had a very enjoyable time there.

We were lucky to have free entry as Cadw from September 2022, offers this at Historic Sites as Open Doors

...while away, we spent a wonderful afternoon at Screech Owl sanctuary, they have many other animals that they take care of, including foxes, which as it happens is one of Antonio’s passions. We paid extra for a Fox Encounter, and Antonio was absolutely thrilled to bits to be able to spend 25 minutes with Teddy, a crazy, adorable cute 6 month old fox. She has been found as a baby and brought to the sanctuary. We all came away with a few playful scratches. 😂.

Our favourite day of the holiday, by far. Teddy was actually secured with a collar and leash and held by a keeper. I have edited these out in the image.

It's our birthday!!

This room - and two other pose scenes - will be available for anyone to use at SL12B - bit.ly/1I5Imly - open June 21st

In the morning when I wake

And the sun is coming through,

Oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness,

And you fill my head with you

Shall I write it in a letter?

Shall I try to get it down?

Oh, you fill my head with pieces

Of a song I can't get out

Can I be close to you?

Can I take it to a morning

Where the fields are painted gold

And the trees are filled with memories

Of the feelings never told?

When the evening pulls the sun down,

And the day is almost through,

Oh, the whole world it is sleeping,

But my world is you...

When we add a cat to to our family, it is with the realization that their time with us will be only as long as it is...

Losing Quinn was devastating - made us feel that we could not go through such an experience again. Then (as we always do) we checked the Animal Shelter to see if anyone might need us, hence Charlie and Marcel :-)

Happy Caturday ❤️

…we just knew we were having fun'!

From a day at the horse racing, we were taking crowd shots, as I grabbed a capture of this family, I was spotted by the little boy who rewarded me with this cheeky grin.

Ciara brought heavy rain and severe winds across much of Cornwall. Sunday 09-02-2020 storm chasing in Porthleven. A first capture of the pier and church tower for me at a safe distance.

We had an early start to Bellever Forest Dartmoor to explore the forest with a misty atmosphere. I was really pleased with the shots I came away with. I look forward to many more trips to woodland areas.

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland, captured in November 2024.

Last year this installation appeared on Argyle Street for the Christmas period. A star-shaped tunnel of lights with a button at the centre that could be pressed for a loud jingling of sleigh bells and a jolly "Ho, Ho, Ho." I imagine that it looked better after dark.

This year there is nothing.

'tis the Season.

Take care everyone.

I was able to capture the sunrise in beautiful Napier, New Zealand

"Take my hand and do not let go, because I am not just choosing you on the easy days. I am choosing you in every storm, every silent breakdown, every moment you feel unworthy of staying for. Even when you doubt yourself, I will keep my fingers locked with yours, a quiet promise that whatever we face, you will never have to do it alone"

It's new year's eve in the land down under and I want to take a moment to wish anyone who reads this a safe and happy new year...

and Erik, there is no one I’d rather have standing by my side when the clock strikes midnight and regardless of what the new year has in store for us I am glad I get to face it with you.

New Years Eve has had a double meaning for me over the years, it was my wedding anniversary so traditionally a double celebration. Last year I went to shoot the sunset on my own and while the photo shoot itself was beautiful, it was a lonely venture. This year, I packed up Micah and we went to the beach together with my parents. This is the first beach sunset Micah has been to. I was nervous to take him as it was a hot day, New Years Eve and later than he usually stays out. But he had an absolute ball. He ran in and out of the water and was filled with joy to be running free with the other children and adults surrounding him. So here is to new memories, new adventures for Micah and I and days filled with love, happiness and courage. Happy New Year to everyone from Micah and I 💕

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.

The doorway to The Ivy in Glasgow is a popular spot for social media photographs. I do wonder how many go on to eat inside, or can even afford to.

We live through turbulent times in an increasingly crazy world. Take care, take photos and keep making memories.

Stay safe my Flickr friends.

The daily grind often fades away intentionally but making memories with your kids will stay with you for a long time!

Two souls, one ride, and a desert landscape that takes your breath away. Feeling on top of the world with you, Scarlett.

Rena is aghast that I'm posting this silly photo of her for Happy Caturday's theme, Making Memories. Her feet and tail look huge, her body is all out of proportion and it's a night shot.

But, this has been a bad health week and so for me to be able to laugh while sleepless at 1:30 a.m. makes for a very happy memory.

Making memories of making memories, Rain Room, LACMA. I was the only person in the exhibit with a DLSR.

Imagine a space woven with laughter, a symphony of giggles and shouts echoing off brightly colored slides and sturdy swings. This is the magic of a playground, a haven where children blossom under the open sky. Here, more than just fun unfolds; it's a stage for the grand production of childhood development.

I really love this picture as it captures the moments with my family I really treasure. I am immensly proud of our two boys - the way they embrace our love for the outdoors is wonderful to see (and really inspiring too - our 4 year old managed over 8k without any fuss!!).

Last Saturday we embarked on one of the hikes on the very top of my wish list - a circular trail leading us from Meldon reservoir at the North-Western side of Dartmoor up the hills towards Black Tor and then exploring the absolutely marvelous Black-a-Tor Copse, an ancient oak woodland which is a site of scientific and natural significance and classified a National Nature Reserve. There are not many of those high altitude woodlands left and this really gives you a sense of travelling back through time. Sitting remotely in between the hills below Black Tor next to the lovely West Okement River, this woodland is nothing but magical with moss-covered granit boulders, gnarly and twisted oak trees as well as rare lichen and birds to find.

A day we will remember for a loooong time!

"Is this the wagging finger of fate that warns me to stay clear and risk not my mortal soul in the woods of the wisemen"

A first visit for me to visit as a landscaper and I was indeed mesmerised by all the twisted oaks and thought of the many tales that I had heard about this enchanted place. The druids, Ghost, even the devil himself ! but fear not, I did not see but you could certainly imagine all these things here.

Friendship is like a game of dominoes—sometimes you need the right match to keep things going. Each piece connects to another, forming a chain of shared experiences, trust, and support. Just like in life, a strong connection builds something bigger, and together, the pieces tell a beautiful story of friendship and unity.

Had to share this one of my two boys. Shall I keep it as idyllic as it looks by telling you how sweetly they did this on their own? How my 4 yo old son reached protectively out for his 2 yo brother's hand as they walked around the bend? I wish I could but I think the truth while not as perfect is always more interesting. I went back to this place, a particular open space about 30 minutes away from my house, hoping that the green trees that shroud this pathway would have turned into something colorful. I wasn't disappointed. This winding path wraps up the rocky hill like a miniature mountain pass. The base is wrapped in trees just like this and at the top is dense forest and rocks. It's a little bit of a trek for the kids but always worth it. I had rounded this bend and was stunned by the glorious color and curve of the path. I begged my son, yes BEGGED them to walk this path. They laughed and ran up and down the path completely ignoring my pleadings. Elijah my 2yo took a tumble off to the side landing in a pile of branches and began howling. I kissed him and set him up on his feet again and sat back patiently waiting for the right moment. Finally they both grew tired of running back and forth and Efraim came over to me to strike a bargain. "Do you want to take a picture of me Mama?" my face probably lit up like a 2 year old. "Yes I do, Efraim."

"Well, " his face was as serious as ever, "We can let you take pictures of us." I hugged him, "Thank you Efraim! That would make me very happy,"

"But can we get popsicles if we do?" my four year old asked. Should of known better!! ha!! What could I do though? I absolutely agreed and I didn't even have to convince Elijah because Efraim did all the talking. Within a few minutes these two boys walked off hand in hand around the corner - conspirators I tell you!! ;) But we were all happy in the end lol. Little brother trusting Big Brother to make it worth his while. I was hoping to return to this spot again this week but even as I'm typing this, I'm looking out my living room. to watch flakes of snow falling faster and faster. It's been snowing off and on all day long. I'm not sure what this will do to the emerging color around town and nearby areas. The color didn't seem to last long enough but I am so grateful this year to have found so many wonderful places to explore and enjoy. I'm just greedy I guess - it's never enough haha.

Hope your week is going well dear friends, thank you for listening to my ramblings.

Love,

Rachel

A visit to Bude Sea Pool on the highest tide recently. This is a place I have been waiting to visit! We had gone to get some food and on reflection it was said that maybe we were a little late to arrive after stopping to eat!The pool was overflowing with the sea and a few local strong swims were enjoying the crashing of the waves as they stood on the edge of the pool! although I broke a 10 stop filter! it was still worth the visit.

When thinking of places to go for fall color photography Florida isn't necessarily my consideration as a go to place however, with a mindset reset fall colors are there. I walked some trails alongside the Banana Creek marsh recently using a long lens to capture some intimate views of autumn and made a collage to tell a better story. The brilliant yellows of marsh marigold dominated the area much like the yellows found in the American southwest during the fall season. Reds are typically scarce so finding red leaves with Spanish moss as a background was a gift. And the common gallinule was far from common with its bright red face poking into the yellow green duckweed.

Sharing more personal photos these days... I don’t go out shooting in the “wild” as much for now lol. But my camera is used pretty much daily for my every day life.

As most of you know I have seven children. When we do activities like pumpkin carving it’s just easier for everyone if we do them in groupings... a few kids at a time. That way I have more time and patience to devote to the experience. We started with my two youngest, which are 2 years old and 4 years old. My 2 year old flat out wanted nothing to do with the experience. When i realized he was 100% not interested I let my 7 year old take his place and my 2 year old ran free. We could not coax him to look inside or get him to show any interest in the pumpkin experience.

Meanwhile my two older boys had a blast drawing out their own patterns and helping me carefully carve them. When my two year old Avi saw them with their finished pumpkins, he instantly wanted his brothers pumpkins. I told him no, kindly but firmly, he’ll have to wait to make his own own. I sat the older two down to take a picture of their proud faces and finished with and Avi plopped right down in front with the biggest pout you’d ever seen.

He photo bombed the picture but it was still pretty cute . Thought you’d all get a kick out of the story. Also - No worries, we’ll be doing more carving soon and Avi will get his second chance
