For the last 15 years, I've walked into this building five days a week and have hardly ever stopped to look. Occasionally though, the sun shines and there are blue skies and the normally boring looks a little different. I admit, not the most attractive architecture but still....its got something! :-)

This building has been mostly empty for the past 5 years due to economic shifts but slowly new tenants have moved in. I forgot this as I snuggled up against the windows to take this photo. I remembered occupancy only when I stepped back to see a couple of people sitting in a office looking back at me. Its okay though...it was an icebreaker. Now whenever I see them in the building we have something to talk about. :-) Me making friends in the most weird and awkward of ways. Just another 'normal' day. :-)

Happy Wednesday all!

“If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.”

...getting to know all about you.

Getting to like you, getting to hope you like me!

Well, I'm not sure if we've gotten to the "like" stage yet, but we have gotten to the point where the kittens are no longer freaked out every time Pearl enters the room.

Now they are becoming curious, and are getting close enough for quick sniffs without hissing or threatening to swat.

Pearl is equally curious about them.

LOL, she's pretty cautious though.

She knows kittens have claws and can turn on you on a dime!

In Beyond Layers II Kim challenged us to take some time out for ourselves and do something we really enjoyed doing. For me, one of the things I enjoy is puttering in my flower beds and picking some flowers to enjoy in the house or on the deck. The box was given to me by a dear friend many years ago. I used two of Kim's textures,,,,, Hope Filled and Lola

Have a good day and thanks for your visits,,,,,,

...Lisa and I stayed at the Excalibur last night, and this was the design on one of the pillows in the room. Of course, I thought of the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz...lolololol. We had a blast.

It was pretty funny to watch the deer checking out Vinny and Sally the other day during our walk.

We walked over to the soccer field. This field is surrounded on all 4 sides with trees. The deer usually hang out inside the tree line in small groups around the perimeter of the field.

If they feel safe they'll come out onto the field to graze.

I like to sit out in the middle of the field. After awhile they will decide it's okay to come out to graze. They'll keep an eye on me. A few will become curious and get brave enough to come in a little closer.

If the cats are with me though, they are super curious.

Today, the first day of summer, we were tickled to see a chipmunk foraging in the backyard. Haven't seen one since last October, so hopefully he'll take his cue from all the birds and squirrels who visit our yard and keep coming back.

And yes, after I spotted it, I tossed out LOTS more treats for everyone to enjoy... but especially for our new little chippie!

It's always good to make new friends...

this little creek is just a short distance from our house and I think it looks lovely in the winter.

this was taken on Sunday and today we are expecting rain so the snow will be gone by tonight, if you have time, take a look at it in light box,,,,,,thanks so much for your visits and have a great day

Luna wanted to see "doggy" according to her dad so I had Benni sit close to her. Luna wanted to see from about this distance and didn't get closer even though the dad reached out and patted Benni.

The Cape May County Zoo has a very nice little walk-thru aviary that lets you get pretty up close and personal with about 30 or so species of birds.

This roseate spoonbill was pretty friendly.

A boy and his younger sister make friends with a California Sea Lion @ Artis Zoo aquarium, Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The California Sea Lion (Zalophus californianus) is a coastal sea lion of western North America. Their numbers are abundant (188,000 U.S. stock 1995 est.), and the population continues to expand at a rate of approximately 5.0% annually. They are quite intelligent, can adapt to man-made environments, and even adult males can be easily trained. Because of this, California sea lions are commonly found in public display in zoos and marine parks, used for entertainment in circuses, and trained by the US Navy for certain military operations. This is the classic circus "seal", despite that it is not a true seal.

Our guide, Naimat, outside his house.

The people that live in Fairy Meadows are very conservative, they've built their homes away from the areas that tourists come to, but some of the huts, especially of people who work at the resorts, are nearby. They usually ask you not to take pictures of their homes (politely).

Naimat was a friendly soul, he let us take this picture of his house, with the flag of the political party Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI, of the legendary Imran Khan) outside his door.

He, like a lot of us, was a passionate believer. And I hope he still is. Lets make a New, better Pakistan, together.

Let Imran Khan lead us there.

I hope this is something to start your weekend off with a smile, or a laugh. Taken at the Conservatory of Flowers, in San Francisco, this is a Double-Coconut. Yes, I know what it looks like. Let me say it again...this is a Double-Coconut, a Lodoicea Maldivica, just as the label says. Thanks for keeping the comments clean...I know it must be difficult. :~}

I apologize for this video, but its the best I could come up with.
