Beth Lee Stern demo'd her jewelry for two days, and the second day had people make copper pendants. The girls were thrilled to be able to do their own.
A microdot is text or an image substantially reduced in size onto a small disc to prevent detection by unintended recipients. Microdots are normally circular and around one millimetre in diameter but can be made into different shapes and sizes and made from various materials such as polyester or metal. The name comes from the fact that the microdots have often been about the size and shape of a typographical dot, such as a period or the tittle of a lowercase i or j. Microdots are, fundamentally, a steganographic approach to message protection.

Fotografia do making of do dia de noiva da Kelly, que começou no Werner Coiffeur do Shopping Rio Design Leblon e terminou na casa da noiva, em Copacabana, RJ. O penteado da noiva foi feito com coque de cachos presos com fita de pérolas, acessório da Loja Rua do Ouvidor, 120. A noiva usou vestido of white da Só Núpcias e sapatos Luana Zabot, na cor rosa queimado ou rosé. As alianças de ouro branco, com brilhante na aliança da noiva foram levados para a cerimônia em fusquinhas retrô com laço de cetim. Os convites foram confeccionados pelo noivo e a noiva aproveitou para posar com a bateria e os instrumentos do noivo músico. www.fabiomorofotografia.com.br

Making Spaces aims to develop a national strategy to sustainably integrate making into schools across the country. The Bubbler at Madison Public Library was excited to be a Midwest hub in partnership with Madison Metropolitan School District to create making & learning spaces in our schools.
As a hub, the Bubbler provided our schools with development and support to help jumpstart and sustain maker education in classrooms. This included facilitating professional development around making & learning, connecting schools & community makers to build a mindset & goals for making spaces, and successfully launching crowd sourcing campaigns for schools to raise funds and support.

Today marks not only the start of Memorial Day Weekend in the US, but it's also the first day of Gaspee Days in Rhode Island. Despite what folks from Massachusetts will tell you, the first planned shots against the British in the American Revolution did not occur in Concord. They happened a few hundred yards off-shore along the Rhode Island coast when, in 1772, Rhode Island patriots burned the revenue ship H.M.S. Gaspee to the waterline. The event which, for Rhode Islanders, started the Revolution, is still celebrated every year. Gaspee Days includes a parade, a 5K Road Race, a colonial militia muster, and culminates with a reenactment of the Burning of the Gaspee.
For today's photo, I visited the arts and crafts fair that traditionally kicks off the two-week long Gaspee Days celebration. Here you see a young lady showing her hand-made glass art to a prospective buyer. You can see by their expressions that they knew they were on camera. It's hard not to be aware of it since I now use a 16-35mm lens for this type of event, and to take this photo I was only a couple of feet away from them. It always amazes me that the presence of the camera does not change their actions unless you want them to.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
