Acceptance of the self is something that I am constantly striving for. I keep evolving as a person, as an artist, as a soul traveling through space in this meat-suit. Learning to love that meat-suit is the hard part, but I take it in small strides that grow ever-larger.
Today was a day to be an artist, and I accept that.
I have my own beauty, I have my own unique soul, and my time here on this planet is too damn short to give a fuck what anyone else thinks. So today I painted half my face and took pictures in my bathroom, because today was a practice in loving and accepting my strange mind.

A friend at work has been singing the praises of Bare Escentuals for a while now, and I need some new makeup, so yesterday she took me over to one of their stores to get me set up on it. This is their so-called "Starter Kit" -- 5 pots of makeup, 3 brushes, a travel compact, moisturizer, and an instructional DVD.
I've never had makeup that needed a DVD before. This should be interesting.
