On October 17th, the GATEways Outreach Program hosted their first Makerspace Workshop for the public. Our wonderful interns taught the public about the importance of sustainable water, compost, art, food, and energy practices through compost bin creation, leaf rubbing art, pumpkin decorating, and energy saving night lights.

Conducted by DMIT Lecturer Soek Ling, she designed and collaborated with a few students in making a huge balloon sculpting for SG51! The twisting and turning and squeaking of balloons did not faze the students, some of whom were doing it for the first time. When the various parts were put together, they created an awesome photo op background.
