Nun startet im DrePunct der SLUB der neue Makerspace dauerhaft als Service für alle Nutzerinnen und Nutzer der Bibliothek. Derzeit laufen dafür die Vorbereitungen und der Testbetrieb. Im Januar 2015 wird offiziell eröffnet.

Lunar New Year Story Time

I’ve recently made a Cacophonator, whose circuit description and board layout are easy to find on the web. I etched the circuit boards at the Milwaukee Makerspace, after modified the board layout, drawn in DipTrace, so I could add SIP sockets and pin headers to tidy up the inside of the project box. The sockets also allow the board to be easily removed, despite the 20 wires running between the board and other components inside the project box. This all makes for an extremely tidy project box interior!

The Small Hall Makerspace is the DIY resource on campus open to all students, faculty and staff. We have a 3D printer, virtual reality headsets, a laser cutter for wood and acrylic, two CNC routers for wood and aluminum, a vacuum thermoformer, and various electronics and computing prototyping equipment.
