Maker Battery is a late nineteenth coastal artillery battery in Cornwall that is typical ofbatteries reflecting the technological and political changes of the time. Constructed in 1887 to expand the capabilities of the nearby Grenville Battery, Maker was initially equipped with a single 12.5-inch Rifled Muzzle Loading (RML) gun. This was expanded 3 years later to three 12.5-inch RML guns. By 1900 these were outdated and outgunned armaments, and while a proposal for 9.2-inch BL guns was dismissed, in 1903 the battery's two northern emplacements were upgraded to the 6-inch BL Mk. VII. Enduring another 8 years the battery was disarmed in 1911 and never reutilised.
The three emplacements are in good condition, each with their associated subterranean magazines. The 12.5-inch RML emplacement retains its pivot, race and traversing arc.
Maker Battery is owned by a nearby estate and rented out to private tenants. This was a permission visit with the tenant who was on site.

The morning featured workshops and talks related to zine culture, collecting and creation.
From noon to 5 p.m., the zine marketplace took place in the Community Room featuring a wide array of zinesters as well as local zine collections from the Arts Council of Princeton, Rutgers University and the Trenton Free Public Library. Everyone was able to browse, barter or buy wares by zinesters from near and far while meeting fellow artists.
An open zine making session occured on the third floor.
