CANNONBALL is the largest organised road trip in Europe and the most exciting motoring and social event of the year. The trip typically features 160 cars including the world's top makes: McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley.
Cannonball Ireland has raised over 580,000 euro for Irish Children Charities.
Buttonwood Farms just finished up their annual Make A Wish Foundation event. Over $120,000 raised will go to the Make A Wish Foundation.
The Genie stayed on its main gear long enough for the plane to look like a dog on its hind legs.

Every New Year’s Day this enthusiastic crowd gathers at Easton's Beach in Newport, RI….at precisely 12 noon the official Polar Bears calmly march in unison into the icy Atlantic Ocean (the rest of the gather just runs like mad). The event attracts large crowds of participants and onlookers… all part of a community fund-raiser to benefit the “Make a Wish” foundation

SO proud of Reuben. Torn between doing my job of photographing the kids and just wanting to stare at him. He had an amazing time and he confidently spoke his name in front of 800 in the great ballroom. I'm wistfully thinking now how he was conceived in a lab less than a mile away in Beverly Hills so I guess he felt right at home. Had that funny moment of hearing "Oh just walk right past me" as I did with old geography pal from uni Ben Trod who's now the general manager of the Beverly Wiltshire. Well we've both changed a tad in 24 years. I've cemented one thing and that's that I seriously love shooting events, up against the stage and pottering around tables despite my rubbish joke telling abilities, but absolutely do not want to be one of the paparazzi throngs on the step & repeat (red carpet) fighting over who's ruining whose exposure with flash. The 30 Wish kids were catalysts to the $20k and $50k donations coming in from the audience in flurries. Home and feeling very fortunate to be part of Make a Wish through Reuben and now on the team. And yes you bet Reuben did his infamous dance on the stage...

Taken at Montreal's Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve racetrack on Canadian Grand Prix weekend in June 2002, during a Ferrari race after the Formula 1 cars had finished their qualifying laps.
The red Ferrari 360 Modena is from the Make-a-Wish foundation. (I guess that must be one of their administrative costs.) Hey, Make-a-Wish Foundation, I have a wish. Please drop that car off at my house and give me the keys.
The yellow Modena with the US Air Force-type insignias can also be seen in this picture.

The two hundredth photo of the year and a very special one.
A few weeks ago I sent off an application form to Make a Wish Foundation for Charlotte. To our delight she has been accepted and her wish will be granted. She (and we) are so excited. She has shortlisted three wishes, with the help of two lovely volunteers who came to our house yesterday and we will hear in a month or so what she has got.
Obviously we'd rather not be in a position to be applying for this but goodness does she deserve to be spoiled after what she's been through. We can't wait!
