Happy Easter.

I challenged myself to create a simple seasonal still life. I employed focus stacking to keep the props sharp and the pink background blurry.

Oksana is working hard in the dairy cellar churning butter. She brought the baby calf in to keep her company.

This idea of the dairy cellar for cheese and butter preparation & storage came from my visits to Old Sturbridge Village where a dairy cellar is part of the Towne House and barn.

Sarah is back in Britain visiting Stratford - Upon- Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Heathcliff insisted on following her all through the Highlands and staying by her side so she has a travel companion. She has found a lovely thatched inn and has paused to enjoy the garden before she heads in to unpack.

I've fallen deep down a Maileg rabbit hole. I'm addicted at this point. These little creatures are so delightful. I resisted them for years, but I caved. They are sure to make anybody smile. I've treated myself nicely for Mother's Day :)

She looked a bit like I feel today, so tired and just UGH Already need a break the last two days have been so busy and I am so tired because our inconsiderate neighbors won't stop shooting off fireworks at all hours of the night :(

OLEG: *Sits relaxed on the sofa.* "Peter, why are you on a tricycle when you have a bicycle? And.... what's hanging behind the tricycle? It makes quite a noise!"

PETER: "Christmas baubles, of course, Oleg!"

OLEG: "Indignant.* "Christmas baubles?"

PETER: "I don't think the Christmas tree looks festive enough yet. It needs more coloured baubles for when Scout and Rosie get here. That's why I borrowed the tricycle from Big Sister Maileg to transport the baubles. I hung them behind the tricycle so I can pull them along. It's easier than using my bike."

OLEG: "I think the Christmas tree looks nice enough as it is, but if you think there should be more coloured baubles then you should decorate the tree more." *Ponders.* "Wait! You said Scout and Rosie were coming? I didn't know that. How do you know, Peter?"

PETER: "I heard it from Faerie Mum. I saw her this morning. She said that she is organising for Scout and Rosie to visit today until midnight. Oh and Paddy will be coming too!"

OLEG: *Looks at the seat on the sofa next to him.* "Goodness! Is that magic faerie dust I can see sparkling?"

PADDY: *Appears in a burst of blue sparking stars.* "Oh! Oh! Oh Oleg! What on earth?" *Confused.* "I was having tea in the dining room a moment ago, and now, now I'm here with you, mijn beste vriend! How can this be?"

SCOUT: *Appears in a burst of blue sparking stars.* "Surprise! Surprise mijn beste vriend Peter, Paddy's beste vriend Oleg and Paddy! Rosie and I made a wish for us all to be able to play together and," *Looks around.* "Here we are!"

ROSIE: *Appears in a burst of blue sparking stars.* "Oh mijn prins! Here I am to help you decorate the Christmas Tree, and then we can sit underneath it and we can share ten thousand soft snuffly kisses! And we can play hide-and-seek together with Scout and Paddy and Oleg."

PADDY: "How did this happen, Scout?"

SCOUT: "Well, Rosie and I were under our Christmas tree at home, talking about becoming Christmas Faeries when we came across two real Christmas Faeries! They said we could make a wish, so we made a wish for us all to be able to play together!"

PETER: "Oh wow! Christmas Faeries! That is soooo exciting!" *Bounces up and down with delight on the tricycle seat.* "Oh thank you, mijn beste vriend and mijn prinses for making such a special wish for all of us!"

PADDY: "Oh yes! Thank you for including me, Scout and Rosie."

SCOUT: "Well, you and Oleg are beste vriends. We could not wish for us to play with Peter only and not include you!"

PETER: "Can you help me decorate the Christmas Tree mijn liefste prinses Rosie, and mijn beste vriend Scout?"

SCOUT: "What a wonderful idea, mijn beste vriend!"

OLEG: "And I think after such a shock, mijn allerbeste vriend, you need a nice cup of Twinings English Breakfast tea, and then we can have a lovely chat and watch Peter, Scout and Rosie decorate the tree."

PADDY: "That sounds like an excellent idea mijn allerbeste vriend!"

PETER, SCOUT and ROSIE: "Hoorah! Hoorah for the Christmas Faeries and for Christmas wishes!" *Jump up and down with delight.*

My bears Paddy and Scout have made very good friends with two bears in Holland called Peter and Oleg (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558...) and their Mummy (www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/) . Peter and Scout are very similar and have become best friends. Peter loves Rosie and Rosie loves Peter, so they have become prince and princess to one another.

Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.

Rosie is Scout's cousin, because like Scout, she is a free trade knitted bear from Africa. She was made in Kenya by one of the Kenana Knitters, Martha Wanjira. She is made from home spun and dyed wool. She was a gift to me from two very dear friends, includng the one who gave Scout to Paddy.

Thank you Marian Kloon (on and off) for the use of her photo in my collage of images.

I used more egg cartons to make a slate roof for my house. I attached the pieces with white craft glue. I have a couple bags of wooden roof tiles in my stash, but I wanted to make it look like slate and this texture works better than the wooden shingles.

After the glue dried, I applied gesso as a primer and stiffener and am currently working on painting it gray.

I was not sure this roof tiling would happen since it takes hours, but I ended up with a lovely snow day yesterday so I had a whole surprise day to craft. A happy day indeed.
