Noticed this pink building that used to be a restaurant. I don't know how long it's been closed. But I liked the color and found the mailbox interesting. This is SOOC.

It has been nearly too hot to hike in the woods where the air won't circulate in the valleys, so I've resorted to a quiet mid day stroll to the mailbox and along the gravel road to look for interesting things.

Yesterday the heat was 'close' as we northerners say. To simply stand around was to drip water.

What I found interesting is that only one has a number on it and all are void of names, and while this community is obviously tightly knit, I am wondering where the postmaster fits in...... I think it's funny how some mailboxes resemble faces. And when you also consider that mailboxes are very personal in most cases and often carry some very personal thoughts the comparison works even more for me. ...Btw. I kept all the blemishes on the mailbox on purpose, since human faces aren't perfect either, right!?
