I always liked that we had a light at the end of our drive. Because of all the trees, our house was sometimes hard to spot, but this lamp helped. Of course, balloons were tied to it for birthday parties. Our mailbox was across the street there, and because we were on the end we were frequently having to replace it, since kids would drive by and bash it with a baseball bat. Ah, Bothell. That street across from our house is "Little First," on which my best friend Faith lived for a couple years in junior high. Having my best friend across the street was the closest I got to having a typical American neighborhood experience. It was GREAT.
