Koregad is a small hill in the western ghats of Maharastra. Its prime attraction is in the monsoon when the hikers get to enjoy its flat top, something most other trekkable hills do not provide.

Group of fishing boats back on the shore after the early morning catch.The beach of Malwan is impressive as all the beaches of this state. The view of the Arabian Sea is only hinted in this picture, because what makes us interesting in this image are the sinuous geometries formed by networks of multicolored boats. The networks create developments as a snake's body that wind up to get lost on the horizon. The charm of this image is proper in the visual impact given by these voluptuous geometric shapes

Shivaji Maharaj, the mighty Maratha warrior was crowned Chatrapati, the emperor, over these hills, Raigarh fort. He ruled his kingdom here, planned his battles against the British and Mughals and also breathed his last at this fort.
The ascent is steep... like crazy steep. Observe, there are no supporting poles in between...

A beautiful sunset over the Sahyadri range, Maharastra.
Western Ghats also known as Sahyadri (Benevolent Mountains) is a mountain range that runs parallel to the western coast of the Indian peninsula, located entirely in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the eight "hottest hot-spots" of biological diversity in the world. It is sometimes called the Great Escarpment of India. The range runs north to south along the western edge of the Deccan Plateau, and separates the plateau from a narrow coastal plain, called Konkan, along the Arabian Sea. A total of thirty-nine properties including national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and reserve forests were designated as world heritage sites - twenty in Kerala, ten in Karnataka, five in Tamil Nadu and four in Maharashtra.

Anywhere in India cricket is "the" favourite game for active/passive boys and passive girls! This is somewhere in the border of Maharastra and Andhra where boys had long stretches of barren land for a game where we stopped to capture the sunset. And to all those cricket heroes of India who crossed records yesterday in their match against South Africa.
