what you're looking at is the leading edge of a 747 wing, flying over the Great Barrier Reef north of Brisbane - around that area I guess - before sunrise - clear yet misty morning that created this fantastically smooth gradient between the sea and sky... I think I was the only one taking pictures on the plane, everyone else was sleeping.

I Stumble upon "The Pt. Reyes" every time I travel towards Pt. Reyes National Seashore ( History of the origination of The Point Reyes Ca. area from Wiki-travel: "The Point Reyes National Seashore was established by President John F. Kennedy on September 13, 1962. ..." wikitravel.org/en/Point_Reyes_National_Seashore ). This ship is such a local treasure to me, I never tire of it's supposed stagnant beauty. "The Pt. Reyes" has slowly decayed over the 10+ years since I first noticed her, but the ship never fails to impress!
The weather last Saturday (24May09 :) was mainly overcast. Overcast weather is of course great weather for taking a "non-contrasty" shot of this beautiful ship, but not exciting enough for a presentation as a fine art photo. So with all the dramatic colors in the rust & decay with this ship, I could not help but steal a sky from a recent Oregon Coast road trip. To make the transition work well tweaked some colors within the foreground as well adding that glorious sunset sky. Had to additionally burn the sunsets low intense setting into the water and sand just to the right of the ship. Oregon Coast shots will of course come along some time soon!

Located on Lantau Island at an altitude of 934 meters, Phoenix Mountain is the second highest mountain in Hong Kong, after Da Hat Mountain. Nevertheless, climbing Mount Phoenix is more difficult than Mount Big Hat, and Mount Phoenix is the highest mountain in Hong Kong
Did some Environmental camping this last week on the Coast just above the town of Stinson Ca. Enjoyed the time immensly, 2nd time there. Part Ranger got a little over the top for issuing a citation for not checkin out by NOON...but other than the noise of life on occasion was able to experience moments like this.
Multiple exposures to get all the details in. The streamers of sunlight were incredible!

Back to Oregon with this shot. Forget the specific beach, we were road trippin for the day...& I noticed the light with clouds...so we stopped. Clouds are cool, the surf is cool, reflections are cool, as well as sunsets...but if you can capture them all together, that is a photographer's private heaven. Almost got drenched a number of times while composing various shots here.

Located in the southern part of Lantau Island at an altitude of 869 metres, Dadong Mountain is the third highest peak in Hong Kong. Every year, the autumn and winter season, the whole mountain is dyed golden, the scenery is very intoxicating, attracting a large number of visitors to enjoy the monitor. In addition to enjoying the sun, Dadong mountain is also the best place to enjoy the sunset, so the English name is "Sunset Peak".
