Granddaughter Clover had a Hogwarts birthday party yesterday, followed by a sleepover. Part of the mix were magic potions (Kool-Aid, fairly certain high in sugar). Not much sleep for them last night. This morning, they are surprisingly cheery . . . and noisy.

Drastic measures are called for, so the boys sneak out to visit the Medicine Woman who lives by the sacred grove. Using a set of good quality pans as barter, they get their hands on a potion that may help them...

Magic potion, golden sickle and menhir.

The park is much more than the famous Magic Potion and the golden sickle of the druid Getafix or a sturdy menhir from the quarry of Obelix.

Working with Sam at aspellforyou again and happy with the results. Sam is a White witch who had crafts spells and curios. She has recently made these beautiful individual named besoms or witches' brooms from foraged twigs and pine needles. The besoms are blessed on her alter and come presented in a gift bag with an expiation card with their name strengths and besom usage. Very beautiful and unique items, enjoyed photographing them in a local wood with the onset of spring. See the links below to her website, social media and ebay sites.

These are real medicines, but I thought they looked like potions out of Harry Potter. I felt like I was raiding Snape's pantry! :D Plus, they had fancy names, too. Too bad I couldn't make them into a magic potion to clean up this mess and dissolve the drudgery of my life. You know, bottle fame and brew glory and whatnot.

What better way to introduce children to the subject of science than to create 'magic potions'. Always a favourite lesson.

Simon mixes his magic potion at McDick's restaurant. Ingredients: cream, sugar, salt, salsa, ketchup, vinegar

This weeks challenge was song title. Seeing as I missed last week I figured I needed to step it up a bit. Obviously the song I chose was "Elevator" by The Black Keys and made my first collage. If youve never heard of the Black Keys and are into Blues, Rock, or Glam check out their Magic Potion album, its my favorite album of all time!

A week or so ago, we invited our friends to have a themed photo shot. The concept was born in Linon's mind - Alice in Wonderland inspired series. It's a pity that we didn't have so many accessories ...

I took some really nice colour photos, but in a process of post-pro I just kept doing this desaturated version. I just can't help it - I believe that it is the best for this concept.

More to come.

I have really no idea what Nux Vomica is, but it must have been very common because we have about a jillion bottles of it.

Magic in a perfume bottle.

I decided the Sun Moon Stars perfume bottle was calling for a closer look now that I had more time to spend photographing it. I am happier with this photo than the earlier one I posted to Macro Monday's "Magic" pool. Hope you don't mind have a closer look!
