News just in.... it could be a Japanese mirror?

ANTIQUE CHINESE BRONZE MIRROR 18th/19thC. CRANE & TURTLE.

Chinese magic mirror, made of bronze in China, probably during the Qing dynasty (1644-1911)

Magic mirrors were popular as when the polished back surface was held at approximately 45 degrees to the sunlight, a reflection of the cast bronze design on the front surface could be seen on nearby wall, which was considered to be magic. The design of the Magic mirror is circular, with an elevated rim around it's outside circumference.

The top surface of the Magic mirror has a small circular protrusion in the centre, is of an unusual turtle design with a round hole running horizontally through it's centre.

The round horizontal hole had a tie wire through it, which replicated the original Chinese styled, decorative tassel, which would have been used to carry the Magic mirror. The majority of the Magic mirror's top surface is decorated with a cast bronze picture of two cranes on it's left side, & on it's left side, a short tree with it's branches & leaves, & several tall blossuming flowers. The back surface of the magic mirror was polished, & is smooth without any decoration.

The Chinese magic mirror is in good condition for it's age. The diameter of the Chinese magic mirror is 4 inches.

Measuring 4 inches in diameter.

In excellent untouched condition, great colour and patination.

In overall good structural condition with no damage.

Code 960

Provenance, Treasures of wisdoms private collection.

An Early Japanese Bronze Mirror, Kagami, Circa 1600. (No.1) This bronze mirror (kagami) was almost certainly made in the Momoyama period. It has a turtle (minogame) as a central boss, pierced for a cord. It also features a pair of cranes, their beaks touching the head of the turtle as in the act of kissing. This beneath a splendid pine tree. Under the turtle is found the inscription 'Tenjō' (?) possibly meaning Heaven.

Any information most welcome!

Here we are delighted to show you this photograph of adept, magical and metaphysical David Mathews who owns his wiccan, paga, and very magical shop and scarey museum.

Firstly the museum:

It is scarey...all floors of what is the most haunted building in Stratford are set out to actually make you feel you are indeed insde a haunted building and it is true to say that many people, obviously including myself, `pick up` instantly on the ghostly spirits that still` live` on in the building from 500 years ago. Not for the faint hearted and I wont tell you any more about the hauntings there as it will spoil it for if you go.

Having said this, dont be put off....on the contrary: Go and have the most mysterious visit to a museum that you will never forget. David also organizes Ghost Walks around Stratford Upon Avon.

The shop, the Creaky Cauldron is for the discerning witch wishing for that extra magickal bit of ritualistic retail therapy. For here you can purchase Davids specially handblended oils, potions for all things whether for health, love, money etc and if you are interested in candle magick , Truly Gifted David has THE shop for you. Fluff and I spent a totally bewitching and inriguing time with David and we cant wait to go back again soon where David and I can share lots more magickal experiences.

Enchanting and Enchanted, David is a real grounded magickal man unlike so many people that suddenly `find` spirituality, `become enlightened overnight` and are truly away with the fairies . David is someone I am thrilled to have met as we both speak the same language.

Oh and bye the way, I was thrilled to accept a certificate for solving a mysterious puzzle on one of the floors. BE Amazed! And...BE AFRAID..Be VERY VERY AFRAID!

Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom Final Farewell 15/34

VMK was a safe game, well moderated, but also with in game staff and hosts that were like in park cast members. One of the coolest things hosts would do is build a highly themed room and either have ride throughs or games with prizes. This made the host rooms very popular, and since there was limited capacity in any room, there was always a long queue.

Luckily the game had VMK Pass, similar to fastpass in that it held your spot in line while you got to do something else. Eventually you would be # 0 in queue and get in the room, just like waiting for the fastpass to reach its time.

Here I am moving stuff in my Dream Design Studio while waiting for one of the host rooms. Some tricky things about being in queue - you had a few seconds to click "Enter Room" when your time in queue came. If you were afk or not paying attention, you could miss your turn and not get in. If you played a game, like POTC or Fireworks, you couldn't see VMK Pass, so if the time came up during the game, when you got out the Pass would be gone! The other dreaded occurence was to dc, or have VMK crash on you. You would be logged out of the game, and after waiting hours in queue your place would be lost!
