Many Celts, Pagans and Wiccans in the world celebrate Yule today. What is the meaning of Yule for pagans and Wiccans? Yule is a holiday that taps into the eternal cycle of life and death and the battle between light and dark. It reminds us that there is hope in knowing that the sun will return even in the darkness. Also known as the Winter Solstice, Yule is a holiday that celebrates the shortest day of the year and the sun’s waxing. The Winter Solstice is the most intense and challenging night of the year if you’re a farmer or live off the land.
My husband and I celebrate Yule tomorrow. This is our altar set up with the tapestry depicting the wheel of life and seasons.

Just before reaching the beach of Saler, everything is full of these little heavily vegetated dunes.
I did notice that the sun was still very low, and produced stunning shadows on the sand, so I stopped before reaching the shore and shot this picture.
Every moment, every place has its charm, and this beach for me has a special memory, because that was the one that had more close to home, is the most was going when I was only a child.

A couple days ago, you saw the first photograph I took at the Grand Canyon of the moonset at Mather Point. This is the last photograph I took on this visit to the Grand Canyon. Michael Medford (a National Geographic photographer) describes Magic Light as, "You'll know it when you see it." It was a gloomy, cold, windy morning at Moran Point, but I thought I would try for a sunrise. What happened was even better. A storm was coming in from the west. For a brief moment, the rising sun peaked through the cloud cover just enough to highlight some of the canyon. It was so windy, I had to turn on the camera's image stabilizer despite being on the tripod, plus put my weight on the tripod to steady it further. Even with that, I was concerned I wouldn't get a sharp shot ... but was very pleased when I finally uploaded the raw file for editing. This capped off a great week of photography. Moran Point is named after Thomas Moran, a great American landscape painter who came to the canyon for his first time in 1873. Below Moran Point is Red Canyon, easy to understand how it got is name after seeing it. You also get a glimpse of the Colorado River in the distance. Within 5 minutes, the light disappeared, and within 15 more minutes the rain was pouring down on the point. Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, USA, March 2023

One of my first photos to reach this stunning beach Barrika well known by all nature photographers.
My impression when you arrive and see all these rocks, all these channels filling and emptying of water each time the waves were coming ...
Your head starts to think quickly to compose and photograph every moment ...
It was just spectacular.
You are in the middle of all these natural rock formations ... thinking you're somewhere else ... another planet. I honestly do not seem to be on earth.
One of the most wonderful places I've ever met in my life. I will return for sure.

Many times is worth to wait a little bit after sunset. Usually, minutes after sunset there is a burst of colors, especially when clouds formations are on the sky. However, it just stand for no more than two or three minutes. So, next time you are contemplating a beautiful sunset, wait for those two magical minutes.

Tromsø during the dark season, where yhe sun rises above the horizon.
Tromsø lies in Northern Norway. The municipality has a population of approx 75.000. It is the largest urban area in Northern Norway and the third largest north of the Arctic Circle (following Murmansk and Norilsk).
Most of Tromsø, including the city centre, is located on the island of Tromsøya, 350 kilometres (217 mi) north of the Arctic Circle.
Substantial parts of the urban area are also situated on the mainland to the east, and on parts of Kvaløya—a large island to the west. Tromsøya is connected to the mainland by the Tromsø Bridge and the Tromsøysund Tunnel, and to the island of Kvaløya by the Sandnessund Bridge.
The city is warmer than most other places located on the same latitude, due to the warming effect of the Gulf Stream.
