On occasion, time is cut short by an accident, as was the case for this little pink tulip. It was broken from its stem and lay on the sidewalk, where it was discovered.

I missed the cut-off time today for Crazy Tuesday, but thought I'd share this one to see if anyone could identify this object.

The lighting set-up
An interesting and very useful liquid adhesive that becomes very sticky on drying without penetrating most surfaces. Easy to remove, as well.

An Audubon bird call made of zinc and birch. I have no recollection when this item was acquired or if it was ever used. It makes some interesting chirping sounds although it doesn't sound like any bird I've ever heard. Perhaps it works by amusing birds that gather around to observe a foolish human.

The seven corn maidens of Zuni culture personify the bounty of life giving corn that grows in six colors. According to legend, they made corn seeds by rubbing the flesh off their body and their breath brought the rain and warmth of summer to the lands of winter. They would returning to dance when the corn had sprouted from the ground. The white corn maiden is of the east.

The name of this flower is based on its shape, which looks like a pair of "britches" or a pair of pants. The flowers are among the first to appear in early spring in wooded areas in the northeastern US and provide pollen for bees as they emerge. The flower size is approximately 15mm across.

Wild teasel is commonly found in the lower peninsula of Michigan along roadways, railroads, open meadows, and disturbed open land. Flowers are pale lavender in color. Can grow to a height of 2-3 meters.

In the Zuni culture, the bear is the guardian and master of the west and represents healing and protection. He associated with the color blue and known and know for strength and curative powers.

This is the small and elaborate flower (approx. 20 mm dia) of ironwee (Veronia gigantia) that surprisingly is a member of the Asteraceae (the same family as daisies and sunflowers). It is native to North America. and grows to a height of approximately 1.5 M. It is attractive to pollinators, but can be spread rapidly. Toxic to livestock.
