The Antanosy are a Malagasy ethnic group who primarily live in the Anosy region of southeastern Madagascar, though there are also Antanosy living near Bezaha, where they moved after the Imerina conquered Anosy. The Antanosy speak a dialect of the Malagasy language, which is a branch of the Malayo-polynesian language group derived from the Barito languages, spoken in southern Borneo.
Of the 18 ethnic groups in Madagascar, the Antanosy are among the smallest in both population and geographical range. Just 362,000 Antanosy exist in a country of 16.5 million, thus making up a mere 2% of the total population (Ministerio de Educatión 2003). Located in the far southeastern region of Madagascar, the majority of Antanosy people are subsistence farmers living in small, rural villages. They rely on the harvests of rice and manioc and forest products such as honey, wild game, roof thatch, fruit, and reeds to consume or sell at weekly regional markets.
The ancestors of today's Antanosy migrated from the north about 150–200 years ago. According to MAEP (2003), they are divided into three groups in the region: - The Antavaratra Region of Manantenina (an alliance between Antanosy & Antaisaka). - Those occupying the Antambolo Valley in the region of Ranomafana and Enaniliha, - The Antatsimo who live in the southwest region of Anosy, from Ranopiso to the Mandrare river.
There are 5 sub-ethnic groups of the Antanosy people: the Tesák, Ivondro, Tevatomalama, and Terara Temanalo.

Le Chef de l’Etat Macky Sall à son arrivée à Nairobi pour la 6e Conférence internationale de Tokyo sur le développement de l’Afrique (TICAD VI) a visité les stands africains dont celui du Sénégal représenté par l’Agence nationale pour la promotion de l'investissement et des grands travaux (APIX).
Il a rappelé que l’APIX est la porte d’entrée des investisseurs au Sénégal et elle expose sur les opportunités d’investissements et des informations utiles notamment sur le Plan Sénégal émergent.
Le pavillon japonais a également été visité par le Président où il s’est entretenu avec certains représentants des entreprises japonaises venu exposer.
Ce premier jour à Nairobi a été aussi l’occasion pour le Président Macky Sall d’évoquer les contraintes liées au développement de l’Afrique en participant à une rencontre sur le Mécanisme africain d’évaluation par les pairs (MAEP), précisément sur le thème de la bonne gouvernance.
Le MAEP a été créé en 2003 par les Africains en tant qu’outil d'auto-évaluation volontaire par les États membres de l'Union africaine (UA).
Lors d’un panel de haut niveau sur la Couverture maladie universelle (CMU) en Afrique le Président a vanté les mérites du programme de la CMU au Sénégal lancé en 2014.

We celebrated Mia’s newest special exhibition, “Eyewitness Views: Making History in 18th-Century Europe” with some of our local Instagram, photography, and journalist communities! We saw things through a different lens with MNCommunity and Capture Minnesota, learned about Star Tribune’s storied 150 year history, and enjoyed music from Tabah. We also enjoyed photojournalist-led tours of “Eyewitness Views” and a talk from MAEP artist, Joe Sinness!
