He stepped closer to us. We were all holding our breath. Crash took a risk and stepped slightly to the left of us. One of the commando droids raised his blaster, and the Mandalorian raised his arm; the hospital light glinted off his chrome, indigo armplates. Crash unhooked Packer and Mech from the prisons; Packer was unconsious, but Mech was still barely awake. Crash was reassuring him, while at the same time carrying Mech.
"It's alright," Crash said.
The Mandalorian took a step towards us.
"Do you know who I am?" He asked. I felt myself shaking my head.
"You should. I was a training sergeant on Kamino."
"Look," I said, "just let us go. It's over. You've lost. The strike team will overpower you." He laughed.
"No," he said, "what'll happen is this: You'll give me the information I need to be able to access the computers; then we'll sell the information to the highest bidder, and live in luxury, while working to reestablish Madalore's place as a warrior planet."
"We'll never help you," Verb said. I looked at him in amazement; he was shaking all over, but, sure enough, he had just stood up to whoever this man was. The Madalorian beckoned one of the bounty hunters–also dressed in Mandalorian armour– over. His friend, who I recognized as the guy who had stabbed Packer. Anger boiled through me.
"M'oco," the indigo-sleeved man said, "show our friend your power."
Just as M'oco's blade slid out of its sheath on his glove, a square was drawn out in the door behind us. The square was forced open, and there stood General Derbson, lightsaber in hand, as commandos flooded in. From the other side of the room, General Grievous crashed through the blast doors, lightsabers ignited.
What happened next was a blur; the commando medic appeared by Crash, and he helped him take Mech and Packer out of the room. The commando who had led us in here appeared, and took shots at General Grievous, who was slashing at General Derbson, who in turn had run up the wall and leaped at Grievous. The commando ran out at Grievous, blocked his lightsaber with his shield, and shot M'oco. M'oco doubled over, as a man ran at the commando nearest me. I shot him and the commando nodded his thanks. The indigo-sleeved man, who had been in my line of fire, ducked as the man flew over him, stood up, and ran at us. The commando and I both shot at him multiple times, and one of us hit his knee, probably out of luck.
I felt a hand on my arm; Verb was saying something.
"We have to go. There's nothing we can do here."
I nodded, and, shooting some more, I backed out of the room. I heard Grievous roar something that sounded like "RETREAT!" The commandos were overpowering the Separatist forces, and bounty hunters were being shot left and right. Grievous knocked Derbson down and ran the other direction, killing multiple clones as he went. Verb and I ran out, down the hallway, and out of the base. Across the way, there was a gunship sitting on the rocky landscape. Verb and I jumped up into it. The medic was in there with Mech, Packer and Crash. The doors closed, and we flew to safety.
