Christmas ornaments

I absolutely love this perfume. The bottle I have now is the 3rd one I have bought, over the years. I got it duty free at Noumea Airport, New Caledonia, about 4 years ago. My photo shows the point where the tube, from the aerosol top, goes down into the perfume. I really enjoyed taking this photo because all I could smell, while I was doing it, was the perfume.

This week, Insect Model Magazine features Maeve. Maeve is serving Mantis Realness, ready for her closeup.

I have a little padded pouch bag that has 3 zips. Late last week, I was about to give it away because I no longer have a use for it. Then I noticed that the zips have silver highlights on the top of the teeth, which is actually quite attractive, and realised there was my "Zed". Participating in Macro Mondays is certainly helping me to be a lot more observant and I enjoy how beautiful everyday items can end up looking in my photos.

This tiny drop on a clover leaf in the grass was no more than 5mm diameter, yet look how it reflects a world in its bubble.

This was fun to do. The beads are about 1mm diameter, so it was 'interesting' trying to balance them and keep them in place. Lovely challenge. HMM 😀

Nature Macro

My picture features a sheet of New Zealand Christmas wrapping paper. Christmas happens in the middle of Summer, here, so Christmas Day for the majority of us usually happens at the beach with a BBQ and of course we're all dressed in shorts and t-shirt. Families will enjoy their BBQ lunch (or dinner because we're on daylight saving and it doesn't get dark until 9pm) then they'll swim or play cricket on the sand or nearby grass area. You may notice that my wrapping paper features New Zealand Christmassy symbols, such as a BBQ and Jandals (perhaps known as flip-flops or thongs to you?) HMM and have a Merry Christmas 🎅

So here we have my kitchen grater which is four-sided with a handle on top. I started off taking photos of the bigger holes. Then I put a red light and a white light behind it and, voila, the small holes on the opposite side of the grater showed up. That surprised me, so I moved the lights around to show up the background holes more strikingly. Wow, these macro topics can be such fun and bring about rather surprising and delightful results. I would never have done any of this without a little prompting and I'm loving it. HMM 😀

taken by my smartphone, I saw them too cute, an awesome things in my little garden.

This turned out beyond my expectations. The picture happened with a thin tablet of soap, lathered up under water, then placed on a glass shelf with a light underneath. When I saw the resultant picture I was very excited at how lovely it came out. Isn't it great?

In New Zealand, during Summer, we are constantly being reminded about about SLIP, SLOP, SLAP, SEEK, SLIDE.
