Spring Beauties (Claytonia virginica), Purslane Family (Portulacaceae). This is one of the first flowers to announce the season, and I captured this image in our own woodlands in Alston, Michigan (southern Houghton County).

Large-flowered Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum), Lila Family (Liliaceae). I captured this image when I spied a bunch of them blooming at the edge of the woods along M-38, between Nisula and the junction with M-26, in Ontonagon County.

A piece of rope walks into a bar and orders a drink. The bartender says, "We don't serve your kind here!"
The rope goes outside, twists itself all around, and ruffles the edges of himself. Then he walks back into the bar and orders a drink. The bartender says, "Weren't you that piece of rope that was just in here?"
