I got this shot after fishing at a high elevation lake in the Rocky Mountains. I believe this is called a Queens Crown wildflower. The official name is Rhodiola rhodantha and it grows in alpine and subalpine meadows and wetlands.
A close-up or macro shot of a Sweet Pea and the pea pods, taken in natural light. There's a quiet elegance in this sweet pea, holding onto its delicate petals while also nurturing the future within its developing pod. It feels like a whisper of summer's gentle progression. The soft focus and natural light really bring out its peaceful charm.
Photographed in situ.
One can often smell this tree before seeing it, the perfume is heady and (I think), really lovely.

Zantedeschia aethiopica, commonly known as calla lily and arum lily, is a species in the family Araceae, native to southern Africa in Lesotho, South Africa, and Swaziland.
Although not considered true lilies, the calla lily is an extraordinary flower. This beautiful plant, available in a multitude of colors, grows from rhizomes.
I am always excited when I get a progression of color through the flower. Here the petals are a less saturated gold leading out to the very gold anthers. Thanks for looking.
From the archives: photographed in the house we lived in then in Tucson, Arizona. It had 5 skylights and many windows. The light here was sunshine coming through the living room window.

This grasshopper was just sitting and watching me take photos of it. I think it was settling into a safe spot for the evening when I spotted it.

The creamy background with the blurred foreground lend this hibiscus flower bud to a dreamy delicate image, I think.
