macro mania at Farley Mount Nr Winchester Hampshire UK

1. Directly onto my Nikon body F mount using a 58mm thread to Nikon F mount adapter.

2, Onto the front of my Nikon 55-300 mm lens using a 58/58mm coupling adapter.

For the time being, I have to hand-hold the lens in place (not very convenient, especially if you have les than 3 hands!).

Curiously, most of the honeybees in this field were clearly not the shape or color of the more common Italian variant you see in most of the country --I am thinking these above are perhaps German/Black domesticated variants?

This climbing rose on our front arbor greeted me when I went to get the mail the other day. It said, "please take my picture."

new experimentation with 50mm lens.

Saw this on a blade of grass and decided to try for a photo of it. I have given it a heavy crop for a better view.

All the fruttie pics were taken in RAW, which I'm still learning, and were enhanced in PSE 9, which is VERY new to me ~ obviously ~ some aren't so hot.

My camera had NO lens mounted, but I hand held my macro lens (front against the lens hole on the D90 body). I shot with the DOF lever fully closed (the aperture on the bottle was closed down to f16). If you want really shallow DOF (depth of field) then leave the macro bottle wide open (f1.2 on my bottle).

Macro bottle is an old manual lens from an old film camera (55mm, f1.2).

This is an RBOB shot - Reverse Bottle On Body (on the front of the camera).

Stayed up late last night flipping lenses around to make ghetto macros. This is a German Pencil Compass. Check it out large.

Was at the market again this morning and was so pleased to see they has some strawberries as I need a good photo of them for the children. Took my macro shots while I was there.

Put an extender on my macro lens today. Could have picked a better day though - perhaps less windy. Inspired by www.flickr.com/photos/kimmiedking/4608119068/

One of our class projects has the theme "blue" so this may be one assignment I turn in.

OhioFoothills April challenge is due next Sunday, 22nd. The theme is "Macro Mania".

Just a excerpt from my macro trip to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Everything else was brown.

This is a very tiny, very insignificant weed-type wild flower, but great subject matter for practising macros.
