Die Baumwoll-Kapseleule auch Baumwolleule genannt, ist ein Nachtfalter aus der Familie der Eulenfalter.

Als Wanderfalter hängt sein Vorkommen in Deutschland von der Einflugrate aus dem Süden ab. Die Tiere überleben kalte Winter in Mitteleuropa nicht.

Oft werden die Raupen aber auch durch Gemüse, Blumen etc. eingeschleppt. Sie nutzen ein breites Nahrungsspektrum und bevorzugen dabei Blüten und Früchte von Kulturpflanzen.

This is a portrait of a Cricula trifenestrata (Cricula silkmoth), a moth of the family Saturniidae. This photo is a stacking of 72 exposures, taken using an automatic focus stacking rail in my macro studio. I used a microscope 4x plan achromatic infinity lens with raynox dcr 150 lens on extension tubes
