No había tenido la oportunidad de conocer el macho de esta especie, es difícil verlo y tuve la suerte de ver su cópula. Es increíble como lleva a la hembra sostenida y volando mientras realizan el acto.

En realidad se trata de una familia de avispas donde la hembra carece de alas y se asemeja mucho a una hormiga, de ahí su nombre común en algunas regiones.
Su picadura está catalogada entre las más dolorosas.
