sundogmom: This is a Queen butterfly. Just like Monarch butterflies, they like milkweed. So I grow milkweed in my garden. When it got big enough, I brought it inside and kept it in a mesh cage. I supplied it with fresh milkweed and after a week or so it spun into a chrysalis. After another couple weeks, it emerged. On the day it emerged, I released it do it could mate and make more. It's a hobby of mine. I have Monarch right now inside and I've raised several varieties by growing the right plants and herbs and also growing nectar flowers.
