Tasty tasty dim sum shots for dim sum :)

I spent the majority of my day today taking pictures of cupcakes. I know. Poor, poor me.

This is one of my favorites of the bunch. It looks so tasty!

Straight out of the camera too. Unfortunately I shot all of these in jpg (I have no idea how my settings were rest), but luckily for me I was paying careful attention to lighting, etc.

Strobist: Canon 580EXII shoot through umbrella to the right and slightly behind the cupcake (it's the only place it would fit). Background is actually one of Leigha's paintings that we repurposed and I used a white sheet of paper to bounce back some light from camera left.

Shot with a 12mm (I think) extension tube on a 50mm f/1.8.

Strobist: SB-24, 1/8th power, fired onto bounce card above bush.

This is a common dish in many nomadic cultures. Its basic ingredients are: thoroughly cooked meat /lamb or horse/ and thin pieces of pasta. The one on this photo was cooked with the horse meat. These are usually specially bred mares. Broth is served separately in small bowls. This dish is very tasty and nutricious.

This is what Devon's for. The scones were warm (yay!) but the strawberry jam was in a plastic packet (boo). I had coffee with it - so does that make it a cream coffee?

From the land where anything is possible. Peas coated in wasabi. Kind of like the peas you get in a pot noodle. I thought they were mints when I opened them.

To say the taste was a suprise would be a bit of an understatement.
