So I started photographing some of the stages of the resurrection!

attempting to restore Rick's dead Mac.

www.flickr.com/people/usarick/

Rick had downloaded a new iOS and it locked it up to a blank screen.

Kept rebooting to see Error message image.....

Phoned Apple and had 2 hours phone support with Control+command+R and hold power button for 7 seconds and a number of other key combinations to get some sort of Mac Home screen..

Got the old Catalina OS displayed then had to apply First Aid to the available 92Gb drive and Reinstall macOS Big Sur. (whatever that is)

Applied first aid to each Folder or Partition but did not have Permission to install Big Sur!!

We even managed to connect to my home Wi-Fi and try an install off the web. Amazing we got that far. The Mac Menu bar options and various Folders during the process of wandering around the setup process all worked.

My very patient and helpful support girl from Apple in the Philippines worked through every option to no avail.

Have to return this "Old" Mac to the Apple shop..

Here's a recent $10 find. A real bargain for an early Matsushita radio......branded under the Maco name.

A superb example of Japanese industrial design.

This six transistor radio was on the market in 1959/60.

National was Matushita's original brand, chosen in 1925 by the company’s founder Konosuke Matsushita. the name Panasonic was introduced as a brand name in 1955 for export purposes. It was under the Panasonic banner that Matsushita first began to flood the North American and European markets in the early 60s.

This radio is commonly found under the National brand name with the same model number.
