The Consulado General de Portugal in the Rua Pedro Nolasco da Silva, Macau.
The building is the former "St. Raphael Hospital and Garden", established in 1569, the first western-style hospital in Asia.
The current appearance dates to its last reconstruction in 1939.

Macau is the most densely populated place on earth and when you walk through the tightly packed streets it's easy to imagine how this is true. Looming in the background here is the Grand Lisboa, which is a landmark hotel and casino. It's known for its distinctive lotus flower design and is a popular destination for both leisure and business travelers. The hotel features luxurious accommodations, high-end dining, and a world-class casino.

Early morning before sunrise in Macau, China.
Macau is a city rich with European history, and an interesting mix between China and Europe. China's first and last European colony, Macau was under Portuguese rule for over 400 years until it returned to Chinese sovereignty in 1999. Those 400 years of Portuguese rule made a big impact, shaping the city's unique East-meets-West culture.
Macau's small size, along with its large population living in it, has often meant that many buildings in the Macau Peninsula are often high rises and built rather packed and close to each other, like this one here at the intersection of Rua da Penha and Rua do Lilau.
The results of this are the narrow streets that are often one way only and a very dense urban concrete jungle. But it is indeed this nature that gives Macau its unique character today.
