Look at all my hairy legs...

Green Lynx Spider (Peucetia viridans) is aptly named for its bright green body color and cat-like...

Lynx Spiders are hunting spiders that spend their lives on plants, flowers and shrubs. Nimble runners and jumpers, they rely on their keen eyesight to stalk, chase or ambush prey. Six of their eight eyes are arranged in a hexagon-like pattern, a characteristic that identifies them as members of the family Oxyopidae. They also have spiny legs.

Today's my lucky day! Three different lynx spiders sighted. This is the third one. (View it large: here )

Taken at Frank's (spider man) observatory. Taken immediately after a downour, the rain drops are still visible on the spider. It was hiding on the underside of a leaf.

Taken with Canon EOS 5D and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro - handheld. In fact, this was shot one-handed. My other hand was holding the leaf so that I can shoot the spider on the leaf's underside. : D

This spider caught my eye because of the red "X" on its back. Does anyone know if Green Lynx Spider, Species Peucetia viridans, is the correct ID?

Glad the men are wearing gloves more this year as the number of spiders is great at the bee yard.
