Thank god it's Friday and I can do some night photography and not have to worry about getting up for work. Also a rare clear, still night.

Another foggy morning, just before the sun burned it away. Sea mist returned later, which is a good sign for some decent weather over the Easter weekend.

The last time I went shopping was March 30th. On that day the UK government announced in their daily briefings that there were 22141 confirmed cases and 1408 deaths due to the Covid-19 virus. Today, April 12th 2020, it is 84279 confirmed cases and 10612 deaths.
Walking the one way system of the supermarket, talking to the shelf stackers, I was buoyed by their cheerfulness. On some of their faces one could detect worry but the vast majority had that Sang-froid, a calmness of composure. Perhaps they were good actors, or had good training, but I suspect that it was a pride in restraint of one’s emotions.
Whatever, 10 out of 10 in what must be a very difficult job at the moment, worrying about seemingly endless customers streaming past, some perhaps unthinkingly less than the required minimum two metre distancing.
I hope I can avoid shopping for another 10 or more days and I suspect that this routine may last a couple of years. It is possible that it will be sometime in 2022 before we all get vaccinated against this plague.
I had to stop to photograph this street art on the side of a couple of containers by Tech Moon.

It was a bank holiday wash out today, but at least my ironing is done, and bathroom clean!
A quick visit to Christchurch to see the swans, but it was too windy, cold and then rainy, to do much else.

A much more enjoyable afternoon, visiting Portland Bill. I think the car park, toilets and kiosk have only just opened this weekend. It was very windy to not too busy.
I'm going to chose this photo for my 120 photos in 2020 project, number 79 "one fine day" because for an afternoon, it felt like a bit of normal.
