Lugo is a city and municipality of Galicia, capital of the province of Lugo and the homonymous region. Founded in the year 25 B.C. by Paulo Fabio Máximo, is a city of Roman origin and the oldest in Galicia. Built near a fort, in Roman times it was named Lucus Augusti.
