So its Dready Journey day 16. Today i went to meet Stephanie: www.dreadgoddess.com She was super sweet and totally interesting. She did an amazing job on my locks using the crocheting method. I cant believe how quickly she finished off my head. I came in to see her with only the top 7 done and within an hour and 45 minutes she had all the dreads in place. It felt like only 15 minutes because she was super fun to talk to. I highly recommend to any dread head who happens to live in Portland to call Stephanie and make an appointment for some dread maintenance.!

during our hike yesterday
was freezing with ice from the cliffs fallin on the path. some of the falls had ice build up. Yet it was drizzling the entire time. Started at horsetail falls and made it to triple falls. 4.6 mile round trip hike. it felt great! Next i want to try and find Fairy falls.

a quickie snapshot of my recent painting...this shots a bit washed out, my lighting too direct but ya get the gist of it i hope....still have to varnish it.
Spent the day doing a commissioned body painting/photo shoot inside my home studio. Lots of fun was had! More photos coming soon.
I have been doin a lot of drawing while sitting inside our art booth during the Portland Saturday Market.
....Now if only I could find the time to scan and post all this new work!

I am having a blast experimenting with painting my pen and ink illustrations with tea.This is a piece inspired by Wednesday Adams. I did a limited edition print run, and hand painted each print with tea.
Happy summer solstice! a bit of a dready update- its been awhile.
i took all the lace and wool out of my dreads so that i could do a fresh henna dye. My scalp and dreads loved the henna and now i have my wool back in thanks to my friend queen bead :)

I scored an art easement via Alberta Art Works to paint two benches infront of Anna Bananas on Alberta St PDX. This is the first bench. Will be painting the 2nd one next weekend, weather permitting.
here is an out take- We did the shoot inside T.Ruth Artspace gallery, portland oregon. There was live music, hot coco, affordable artwork on sale + plenty of onlookers. I do believe we had a wonderful time and i was ready to pass out by the end of the shoot. ( we started the painting at 10am and ended the shoot at 5pm)

I was down at the portland saturday market selling my art and passed the time by getting a lot of work done on my "Mistress and the Orb" piece. Its fun to do live painting, people are always very excited to see art in action. The painting isn't quite done yet...but very close.

my locks have come a long way- now 6 months old!
taking a henna bath :P
using 500g of Punjabi Prime henna mixed with orange juice.
as you can see i made a mess!
it smells sooo good. and the henna felt like heaven on my scalp.
and actually none of the random splashes and clumps of henna on my chest or legs ended up staining- after i took a long shower. no stain on my ears or scalp either.
